"Je ne peux pas y croire, tu n'es plus, il n'y a pas de mots. C'est avec une grande surprise que j'ai appris le départ de JUDITH qui me parait impossible. Je ne peux pas y croire. Je suis désolée. Avec ma tendresse à toi Joe et à toute la famille." - Bart Bella
"Judy always had a warm, caring, self-effacing manner. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed experimenting with a variety of different cuisines. She was the perfect ezer k’negdo to Joe, and he loved to tell us how he wooed her in poetry and song. Judy was an active listener who could give someone undivided attention even when many others were around.
On a personal note, we enjoyed going to museums and movies (and, of course, punctuating each activity with a snack). For several years, we joined Joe, to 120, and Judy, Z”L, for lunch on the seventh day of Pesach. That will always be a cherished memory.
These pictures were taken at our son and daughter-in-law’s “Meet and Greet” in Riverdale on August 6, 2017.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Joe, Shari, David and Benjy and to the beloved grandchildren and daughters-in-law. We share in their immeasurable loss."-Erica Goldman-Brodie and Joe Brodie

I have many very fond memories of Judy and her warm smile; sitting with you guys at the kitchen table being served snacks (possibly in addition to us having raided the snack drawer...,) greeting her on the porch as she tended to her plants, walking home from shul, etc.
One memory which I think says a lot about your mom/wife was when David and I, in the context of one of our many biking adventures into the wilds of Viola Park (and beyond...), came across a bird that was mired and coated in tar from a construction site. We (or maybe more accurately David) brought the bird home. Your mom, ever the consummate nurse, took over and (if I remember correctly) took the bird to a local veterinarian for further care.
I don't remember the outcome specifically but I do remember that your mom made us feel like we had done something important and humane.
