Participant Eligibility:

This competition is open to all individuals in elementary or middle school that identify as female or non-binary students.

NOTE: You don't have to be from the NYC/NJ area to participate!

Competition Format:

Each contestant competes in their own grade division (GR3, GR4, GR5, GR6, GR7, GR8). Students will be in teams of 4. Teams will be split into two divisions: 3-5 and 6-8. All rounds will be a combination of number theory, combinatorics, geometry, and algebra.

Individual Round: 21 questions to be answered by the individual in 60 minutes
Team Round: 16 questions to be solved by the team in 60 minutes

Schedule

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Check-In, Team Formation, Free Swag

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Opening Ceremony

11:00 AM - 12:10 PM: Individual Round + Tiebreaker Set

12:10 PM - 12:25 PM: Break

12:25 PM - 1:15 PM: Lunch (free pizza, will be provided by us)

1:25 PM - 2:25 PM: Team Round

2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Fun Activities

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Awards Ceremonies + Swag Distribution

Lunch: Tentatively, we will be offering free cheese pizza to all students. Those with dietary restrictions are encouraged to bring their own lunches.

FAQ

How do I participate in the team round?

By registering, you are automatically part of the individual and team rounds. For the team round, the competition highly recommends a team of 4 people.

If you've already talked to a few people you want to work with, you are allowed to team up with them. All team members must belong to the same division (middle school (6-8) or elementary school (3-5)). Please note that if your team is not full, we reserve the right to add members to your team.

If you don't have a team, we will place you in a team in the competition.

What is the difficulty level of this competition? Do you have sample questions?

At INTEGIRLS, we try to create a community where everyone is comfortable competing in math. All levels of math experience are welcome and encouraged to participate. The elementary school problems will range from counting to arithmetic to some Pre-Algebra. The middle school problems will range from arithmetic to Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Probability. Team round problems will cover various difficulty levels.

Is there a limit to many teams can join from a given school?

Nope!

Individual: Each student competes in their own grade division. Prizes are awarded to the top individuals in each grade.

Team: Each team competes in either the 3-5 Division or 6-8 Division. Prizes are awarded to the top teams in each division.
