You mean to tell me C-dramas use voice actors? why??? After watching eternal love my first ever C-drama I was so confused as to why Yang Mi sounded so different in interviews, so I guess that explains it.

I wrote a very long detailed review about the reasons why Phoenix is a much better fit for Jin Mi. A woman on YouTube anted to claim that Night as the better fit and I absolutely disagree with that. You can check out my write u here if you have the time to read it. -dramas-and-asian-movies-reviews/ashes-of-love-review-and-rant-contains-major-spoilers-2d9aa68d710a

Maybe Ashes of Love just doesn't prioritize sibling love? :/ When I watched the drama, I felt that Xu Feng was passive before he fell in love with Jin Mi. It seems Xu Feng didn't have much of a passion in life because he had everything (wealthy, attentive parents, military and political strength), until he fell in love with Jin Mi. Especially if you're a viewer who loves it when the male lead puts his heart on his sleeve for the first time for his romantic interest, it's supposed to be thrilling. So, it's unfortunate that Run Yu just wasn't important enough for Xu Feng to potentially damage his own bond with Tuyao. :/

Maybe Jin Mi is more of a simpleminded character? She wanted to let Xu Feng know that she loved him, and the unfeeling pill prevented her from wholeheartedly being with him. Since the past can't change the present, maybe that's why Jin Mi never bothered to discover why Zi Fen placed the unfeeling pill?

I had the impression that the Moon Immortal had the "first come, first serve" approach. Since the Moon Immortal shipped Jin Mi with Xu Feng first, maybe that's why the Moon Immortal continued to support the pair. Jin Mi didn't show signs of loving Xu Feng before the mortal trial happened, but Xu Feng certainly did reveal that he loved her. Seeing how happy Xu Feng was and Jin Mi seemed relaxed around him, I think the Moon Immortal saw that Jin Mi just needed time to realize her feelings. And that's what happened in the mortal realm. The Moon Immortal did support Run Yu's happiness, but the nephew didn't show signs of wanting to seek marriage prior to his engagement with Jin Mi. I felt that the Moon Immortal overall was confused by Jin Mi and Run Yu's engagement, since Xu Feng already liked her, and the potential couple were already getting along. The Moon Immortal didn't expect a love triangle from Run Yu.

Truly, I never thought a love could rival Bai Qian and Ye Hua, but Fuyao calls Wuji out on all of his lies, whereas SuSu was meek and took it all. We know why, but it was damn refreshing to see a female lead who had such integrity.

I totally agree with you and felt the same way about SKY Castle. I really, really tried to like it and have watched until the 11th episode. I couldnt get myself to like it and see what so many others saw in it. I wanted to and I felt it a waste of time to drop it at that point because I was more than half way through.

I really really loved this drama and literally XuFeng became the love of my life but near the mark where you dropped I just started skipping it a whole lot which is why I was able to make it past and barely notice parts which would probably have been boring for others. I literally skipped 90% of the Liu Ying and Mu Ci scenes akdfjslkjlkfjd

I enjoyed this drama though it easily could have been cut around 10 to 15 episodes (the c-dramas are so bad with the filler), but I still liked it flaws and all. I do think spending so much time on Night really slowed the show down way too much.

Their scenes get more fun when they decided to live in the shoes of House for a couple of hrs. Foreman has a vial of pills and he and Taub decide to take not just one, but a handful, the House style of taking drugs. Mayhem ensues. Brilliant choice of music when they were taking the pills and I loved Omar Epps knocking back the pills like House.

The two dares given: Wilson has to be a bad boy and steal a dollar from the cash register. I love how he tries to trick the worker into making a sandwich for 13 because she has proteinane and needs hot protein so she needs a hot chicken sandwich thats made in the grill in the back. Then he tries to open the cash register and take the dollar, but he gets caught! So funny!

-Also last shot of the episode with the latin spelling, OM WES TE MORTIRUM AMANT (Might be missing a few letters due to the Ivy): Thanks to my commenter, Darren who thoughtfully gave me the translation: Everyone loves you on your deathbed. Thanks once again for that!

I hope this podcast inspires you to look within and discover that you have the power to be your our own superhero. Because YOU are the magic pill.

As a parent of a little girl, I am astonished that any government would

administer the morning-after pill to a child without the consent of that

child's parents or guardians. It amazes me that the French government sees

this as a "quick fix" to the problem of teen pregnancy, when the problem

lies with the child's sexuality. Perhaps if young girls were

taught that becoming pregnant before marriage was no one else's fault but

their own (except in the case of rape), and that they must live with the consequences

of sex, then we might solve this problem. It is about time we taught our

children that abstinence is the only safe and effective method to avoid

becoming pregnant.

The morning-after pill does not function by preventing implantation of the

embryo. It functions in exactly the same way ordinary oral

contraceptives work: prevention of the release of the mature egg from the

ovary.

There is a risk that by taking the morning-after pill an embryo

will not implant -- but that risk is the same as the risk associated

with the ordinary, lower-dose birth control pill.

Salon would do well to actually read up on the current medical literature

before freaking people out about "killing the children."

If the morning-after pill fails to prevent ovum release, you get pregnant.

Life begins at conception, not implantation in the uterus. If the morning-after pill prevents

implantation and therby destroys the fertilized egg, it is most certainly

an abortofacient. I know it is nicer, or less upsetting, or more pleasant, to think

otherwise, but it is not true. One may be able to fool 15-year-old school

girls, but not us pro-lifers.

In academic circles, there is much controversy over whether Fanny is

a feminist heroine or a conservative embodiment of feminine virtue. I read

her as the latter. Fanny's defiance of family opinion concerning her

marriage to Henry Crawford is, to my mind, more a reflection of Austen's

commitment to Tory freedom of conscience and religious virtue than it is to

"female autonomy." (There's also, I think, Austen's spinsterish and sentimental attachment to marrying

only for "true love.")

Joyce Millman complains that Joss Whedon's brilliant

show now focuses too much on downbeat, new-girl-on-campus subject

matter. But the original show was so great precisely because it merged

the overt Gothic-horror adventure plot with metaphors about adolescent

angst (high school as hell-mouth and all that jazz). Not only has this

season continued to do that exceptionally well -- with the exception of

one dopey episode about beer-drinking -- but it's been building a bunch of

intriguing plot arcs, from the Initiative science lab, to defanged Spike,

to heart-broken Willow and her out-of-control magic and apparent identity

crisis.

Angel, on the other hand, wobbles from kinda-cool McGyver With Fangs

moments to utter lameness of execution and theme -- as with the

groundbreaking Nazis Are Bad episode Millman found so compelling. I know

she misses the Buffy/Angel love affair, which was wonderful, but heck, it

ran its course -- it's time to let go! And did she really

love the "I Will Remember" episode so much she was willing to excuse those

cheesy oracle sequences?

Finally, what happened to love? For

most humans walking the face of the earth, sex and love are connected in

deeply complex and mystifying and often maddening ways. Yet nowhere in

this review does the word "love" appear -- and that should sadden anyone who

cares about how gay men construct their intimate lives. 006ab0faaa
