Sea Circles
Sea Circles
Self love, Sea love, Community
Sea Circles is a six-week summer program that meets at the beach and provides a safe and healing environment for teenage girls and nonbinary teens ages 11-15. This is a space to explore your relationship with yourself, the ocean, and each other.
Through the art of wave riding and playing in the ocean, our goal is connection to nature and our bodies.
Each session will include a self-love and sea love practice. For example, we will learn how to surf and also learn how to surf through the emotions that arise around learning something new.
We understand that every participant has a unique relationship to the ocean and that there are many ways to ride a wave. We will introduce surfing, boogie boarding, and body surfing, and participants are encouraged to choose what brings them the most joy.
We will cover ocean water safely, ocean conservation, surf etiquette, mindfulness practices for mental health, and of course be creative and have fun!
All surf gear will be proivded. If you have your own surf equipment please let us know.
Sea Circles is an official provider of Groundswell Community Project, a research based surf therapy organization rooted in trauma informed, somatic, community based, eco-therapy practices to create safe and brave space for deeper self love, sea love and sisterhood.
