LBA Board Co-Presidents: Cyle Ryan & Jim Ryan
Decisions: Ensure we have board member roles filled for each season. Act as final decision-maker or tie-breaker.
Board Scheduling: Coordinate board meetings and drive discussions & topics.
Coaches Meetings: Keep GroupMe list up-to-date with current coaches, coordinate meetings with coaches, and drive discussions & topics.
Escalations: Act as POC to handle parent, player, league or referee complaints/issues (should pull in other board members as necessary).
Responsibilities shared/split across all board members
Back-to-School Activities Night: In mid-August, have a table at this event to answer questions and hand out registration flyers.
Game-day Setup: Prepare Elementary & High School gyms (print scoring sheets, chairs, bleachers, scoreboards, hoop heights, etc.) for games to be played.
Game-day Monitoring: Rotating responsibility to be at hosted games to monitor hallways and school areas for inappropriate behavior or issues.
Game-day Cleanup: Put away chairs and scoreboards. Clean & put away bleachers. Vaccuum and sweep floors. Consolidate garbage and take it to compactor. Turn off lights and ensure doors are locked and secure.
LBA Board Member 1: Clint Little
SE League Representative: Act as league POC, attend league meetings, and own SE league scheduling for all LBA teams for home (coordinating with AD for gym availability) & away games. Communicate finalized schedules with LBA board & coaches. Manage the Louisville slide/section of the SE League website & input game results.
LBA Swag/Gear: Set up & manage online spirit wear shop with LBA items that can be purchased year-round. Ensure LBA financial cut (% of sales) is sent from online vendor to LBA on recurrence.
LBA Board Member 2: Dan Witte
One-Day Tournament: Create, market, and manage hosted tournament in December (our largest fundraiser). Purchase tournament winner medals or other winner prizes.
Access/Security: Act as POC for school entry cards for LBA coaches & board members.
LBA Board Member 3: Matt Kraus
Equipment & Uniforms: Manage & distribute required items to players and coaches. Place equipment/uniform orders with vendors. Control inventory in ball racks at school as well as padlock codes.
LBA Board Member 4: Tony Mixan
Gym Time: Manage monthly LBA/gym practice schedule and conflicts with coaches. Communicate regularly with school AD.
Concessions: Ensure hosted games have a school group assigned to handle the concessions service.
LBA Board Member 5: Zach Ramaekers
Financials: Collect & record payments. Pay & record bills. Act as LBA POC for special projects where program funds will be used to drive improvements.
Registration: Create & manage online registration form. Distribute paper flyers in August to elementary Friday folders & coordinate registration emails from the school for grades 3-8.
Website: Manage LBA website and keep online LBA information as current as possible.
Referee Coordinator: Jeremy Savage
Referee Scheduling: Schedule certified referees for all hosted home games.
Referee Education: Talk with coaches about common officiating scenarios, new rule introductions, and controversial situations.
Activities Director: Kaleb Walker
Gym Scheduling: Work with LBA board contact(s) to formally schedule games and practices on the master school gym calendar.
Special Projects: Act as the POC to determine feasibility of special projects suggested by and funded through LBA (i.e. gym or equipment upgrades).
HS Varsity Coaches: Jeff Haun & Tyler Weatherholt
Input: Help determine ideal schemes for youth (man-to-man defense, etc.)
Coaches Clinic: Help train all LBA coaches about good practice structure and drill for 3-8 grade age groups. Assist more deeply with 7-8 grade groups and build tight alignment with HS programs.
