The Louisville Public Library has wrapped up another incredible Summer Reading Challenge, and the numbers are telling a remarkable story of a lifelong love of reading and a passion for our community.
This summer, an incredible 3,738 readers of all ages joined the challenge! Children, teens, and adults came together to log an astounding 129,300 days of reading – that's a 19% jump from last year.
Our community's enthusiasm was astounding: a whopping 12,325 prizes were redeemed (many of which were generously donated by local businesses), and over half of our participants, 53% to be exact, joined the Local Business Scavenger Hunt, exploring Louisville while supporting local shops and restaurants.
And let's talk about our Celebrate Summer Carnival! With 875 attendees enjoying bounce houses, carnival games, and cotton candy, we saw a fantastic 25% increase in attendance from 2024. The energy was absolutely amazing!
The Louisville Public Library's Summer Reading Challenge stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together around the shared value of reading, creating lasting memories, and fostering a strong connection to our community.
