Traffic Collision Injury Severity Prediction
I conducted an in-depth analysis of traffic collision data to predict the severity of driver injuries using machine learning techniques. The work involved extensive data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis and feature selection to identify key factors associated with injury outcomes. I developed and evaluated several models, including logistic regression and decision trees, applying hyperparameter tuning and cross-validation to optimise performance.
The Effect of COVID-19 on Crime in Ireland
I explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on crime rates in Ireland, examining changes in reported incidents across various categories, such as property crime, drug-related offenses and public disorder. Using data from official crime reports, I performed statistical analysis and visualised trends over time to understand the shifts in criminal activity during different phases of the pandemic. The findings offer valuable insights into how social restrictions and lockdown measures influenced crime patterns.
New Product Sales Analysis
I examined sales data for a new product launch, focusing on identifying key factors influencing product performance. I performed data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and statistical tests to uncover patterns in sales trends, customer demographics and market conditions. The analysis also involved building predictive models to forecast future sales based on historical data. The insights derived from this work help understand the product's market reception and provide actionable recommendations for improving sales strategies and product positioning.
