I offer 1:1 online tutoring sessions in Science from year 7 to 11, and in Physics from year 7 to 13. I can aid students in GCSE, A-Level, or test revision, consolidate classroom learning, and build key skills needed in science and physics.
I am a qualified UK teacher, currently located in Finland. My educational background includes a BSc in Astrophysics from Royal Holloway. I was awarded a full scholarship to study an Astronomy and Space Physics Master’s degree at the University of Turku, Finland. I then completed my ProfGCE in Secondary Science from the University of Portsmouth. I have one year of experience working with KS3 and KS4 students, teaching biology, chemistry and physics.
Sessions take place via video call with an interactive online whiteboard which both the tutor and student can write on. During tutoring, I explain and demonstrate concepts, and work through practice problems and real-world examples. Each student has access to a personalised Google Classroom page with resources and pdfs of our session notes. More information about how tutoring works and the terms of service can be found here.
I offer a free introductory 20 minute video call to discuss new students' needs and what they want out of tutoring. The first tutoring session is then offered at half price (£15). If you or your child are thinking about tutoring, please book an available appointment below for your introductory call, or get in touch via email at louisa.arnell.tutoring@gmail.com.
Tutoring sessions last for 50 minutes and are charged at £30 per session. Appointments can be booked via TidyCal below. If you would like a different length tutoring session, please get in touch at louisa.arnell.tutoring@gmail.com. Tutoring sessions will be cancelled if payment is not made at least 24 hours in advance (see all instructions and terms here).
