From December 1st to 7th, the scenic town of Nisi Raches set the stage for a transformative Erasmus+ training course that blended creativity and digital innovation. Organized by Wheeling2help and funded by the Erasmus+ program, this dynamic initiative brought together 28 youth workers from Greece, France, Lithuania, Spain, Portugal, Romania, and Poland. The project aimed to equip participants with advanced digital content creation skills while raising awareness about the European Youth Goals and their crucial role in promoting European values.
From the outset, the project sparked interest by addressing two important questions: how can digital storytelling amplify the message of the European Youth Goals, and how can youth workers master the tools needed to spread this message in their communities? Over the course of the week, participants explored a variety of creative techniques, including image composition, shooting methods, camera movements, storytelling, and scriptwriting. These skills were not only theoretical but applied practically through engaging workshops and collaborative exercises.
The training was guided by the trainers Stefano Esposito, Fabio Meazza, and Rasa Tucinskaite, whose mentorship played a pivotal role in inspiring and empowering participants. Their insights and hands-on guidance helped attendees understand that digital media is not just a tool for expression but also a powerful medium for fostering connection and dialogue.
One of the project’s highlights was the production of short films centered on the European Youth Goals. These films, created collaboratively by participants, reflect the diverse perspectives and creative energy of the group. The experience of producing these pieces provided a deeper understanding of how storytelling can bring European values to life and resonate with local communities.
The culmination of the project is just the beginning. The short films will soon be shared widely, ensuring that the lessons learned in Nisi Raches reach a broader audience. Additionally, participants are now poised to organize similar workshops and events in their own countries, extending the impact of the training and inspiring others to celebrate what it means to be European.
This initiative, hosted by the forward-thinking organization Wheeling2help, serves as a testament to the transformative power of creative learning experiences. By combining digital skills with a shared commitment to the European Youth Goals, the project has laid the foundation for a vibrant network of youth workers dedicated to building a stronger, more united Europe. Stay tuned as the participants’ creations are unveiled—proof that with the right tools and inspiration, we can all play a part in shaping the future.
