Setting up a new Iphone11 and I have the ring tone sound set to the loudest pitch. It will ring 1 time on the loud pitch then drops to a very faint ring. Sometimes it will not ring loud at all. Ringtone is faint on all rings.

This is normal behavior and means once the phone rings, you are looking at the phone. The phone is capable of knowing you are aware it is ringing and is called "Attention Aware" which is a setting you can turn off if you'd rather your phone continue to ring at the loudest volume.

I have a Samsung A3 mini. Early today I received a phone call from a spam number and the ringtone was ear splitting crunching static. I went into my ringtones and they are all the same noise. When I lower or higher the ringtone volume, I get the noise too. Media such as Spotify is also impacted. I tried a restart but the problem remains Any ideas?

What other notifications are you getting from smartthings? If its just your alarm, why not set the sound to something more to your liking? And you could set the notification to priority so its louder/always on.

Now if you want all SmartThings notifications to play this file, select it as the application notification. I just wanted the SMS messages from SmartThings that are sent from alarm conditions to trigger the file. To do this I added a contact and included the phone number from the SMS messages sent by SmartThings as the mobile number. Then you can add a field to the contact to specify a custom message notification sound and select the music file you added to the Notifications folder. Give the contact a name and save it. SMS messages from SmartThings will appear with the contact name and trigger the custom notification. Make sure the file plays long enough to wake you up, though, since it will only play through once. This eliminates the need to devote memory to IF an/or Tasker. Your notifications volume will need to be set fairly loud, so other short notifications might hinder your sleep.

The ObyThing Music smart app let you play a particular music or sound when your SmartThings are activated.ObyThing smart app also provides some of the features by SmartThings Labs & Sonos integration without sono speakers. These are some of the features I found online

I prefer to keep my ringtone volume to maximum always. And while listening to music, if someone calls It rings with maximum volume in my ears suddenly. So, every fucking time I am required to lower my ringtone volume when I wear AirPods and increase after music.

I'm using garageband on my iphone x to create a custom alarm sound and ringtone. When I export it, it is so insanely loud. I have already tried turning the track volume down, and going into the fx and turning gain down, but it still exports the same, VERY VERY LOUD. I can't find any information on this online. Please help?

For example, when I'm in my car with the music blaring super loud, I still want to be able to hear it. And afterwards when I am at school and it is super quiet, and my phones ringer is still on, I don't want some super loud ringtone to bring a bunch of attention to me.

At school, on the other hand, there are neither no need nor desire for breaking through anything, so here we need a very different approach. Here, pink noise is technically speaking a very good choice, but it can also be a wee bit too anonymous if you're unlucky. The keyword here is having an as flat and wide a range as possible, and if you make a ringtone from a song, it's not a bad idea to lower the rage between 1-3 KHz somewhat to make it less distracting. Most phones don't go below like 250-300Hz, but lower frequencies are good for keeping thing softer, so raising the lower end is also a good idea. It might get a bit muddier as you can't reach the really good stuff, but it will also be less distracting. Just don't overdo it.

I need to be able to turn the volume down at least 50% lower than the lowest setting possible. I have a dog that is sensitive to loud alarm sounds. It is this loud with all ring tone default or downloaded.

This is a default install using the web installer. Didn't modify any of the system files. Didn't install any apps that have anything to do with notifications. The ringtones were loud right out of the gate.

Yes turned all the way down to that very bottom mark it is too loud. Exactly as you show it 1 notch above muted as low as it can go. I can totally add notification tones however this impacts all tones on the phone both preinstalled and downloaded.

I'm not a programmer so everything that follows is me talking like I know something. It feels like this could be a linear vs logarithmic scale issue? I am use to the first 'notch' above muted to be somewhere roughly around the same volume as the vibrate. Enough for you to hear it but not enough that its an annoyance. How many 'notches' of earth shattering loud are necessary? It feels like there isn't any range to the slider.

Thanks Lady, I tried calling verizon and they told me to google over to the internet and look for loud ringtones, none of them were adequate and they werent really that loud, maybe I will try emailing them .

I have a program called audacity. It came with a usb phono to digital converter. I can open any mp3, clip out what I dont want, then save a small mp3 to use as a ringtone. One could pick a song that is easily heard, and make a ringtone.

Hi,

I want to hear ringtones for calls but only vibrating for messages etc.

(Because i dont like to miss calls, and vibrating is a nice deal between nothing and beeping)

On samsung devices you have since years different volume bars for that and i thought it would be a general android feature.

( its something you cant do on iOS at all)

I too would like to champion this idea. I have a baby (born on the date that cogirl303 made her suggestion ) and I cannot in good conscious use the Find My Phone option because the sound is too jarring. I'm sure it is great if you lose your phone in the club, but if you are at home, have children or pets, the sound is too jarring!

Hi @jpfinkel, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see more sound options for "Find my phone" feature. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

I want the option to change the sound too. I have sensitive hearing and that noise just kills my ears, plus both me and my mom have fitbits and just found this app. We both lose our phones, her more then me so we will likely use this a lot.

Wanted to add some support for this request. I was really excited by the 'Find My Phone' feature but as it is not it is completely unusable. I tested it out and that sound - and I mean this in the truest sense of the word - triggered an anxiety attack. It's horrible and renders the feature useless.

There's a couple of problems with this. Mainly the monotone beep makes it quite hard to actually tell what direction the sound is coming from and then there's the long gap between rings, which can be up to 10 seconds, and often it's not loud enough.

I have adhd so I'm constantly forgetting where I put things and I use this feature (or similar) almost daily. I can get alexa to call my mobile, but usually the sound of my phone ringing is drowned out by the ringing from alexa. I can find my laptop and use a google feature to ring my phone, but that's a faff and sometimes I don't know where my laptop is. So a button on my wrist at all times is ideal, except it's not that easy to find the phone.

It makes a beep for less than a second, then I move in the direction of my best guess as to where it is (usually I can't even tell if it's on the same floor or upstairs) then I have to stop quickly in case it beeps while I'm moving and the sound of me moving drowns out the beep. Then I wait silently, hoping there's no other noise that drowns out the beep. If I'm lucky, I guessed right on the previous attempt and I'm closer to the beep. If I'm not, I have to move back to the previous stage.

This change is really necessary, the current ringtone and volume are incredibly annoying and it makes me want to not use the feature at all. I'd rather walk around the house trying to find the phone than using this feature as is.

Dear Apple,After os17 update the notification sound has changed, liked other people are also mentioning and it is becoming very annoying and not able change it make situation more worst. It unnecessarily make us think that what compromise we can face without our consent in the upcoming updates !!

Another solution could be that instead of putting the phone in silent mode, you can set the default ringtone to a silent audio file. Then, you can set a normal ringtone for the contact of the number you want to call from.

Another solution would be using Termux (my favourite app). In silimar cases, I can SSH to my phone from my computer, adjust volume with termux-volume, play some sound file with mpv, or activate the motor with termux-vibrate.

Just in case you don't want to use the "where's my phone" functionality, as suggested by the other answers, you could create a contacts entry for the phone you plan to call it from, and assign it a special ringtone and flag it as emergency/VIP/starred contact (whatever your phone model uses). If you enable VIP contacts to ignore DnD/silent mode, this could achieve the same functionality without relying on external services. e24fc04721
