How does LouBella prepare my puppy for their new home?
At LouBella Goldendoodles, we believe that a great puppy starts with a great foundation. From the very beginning, we focus on building confident, healthy, and well-adjusted companions. Our goal is to prepare our puppies for their forever homes, both physically and emotionally, ensuring they thrive in their new environments.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
Between days 3 and 16, we guide each puppy through simple daily exercises known as Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). These activities, which include gentle touches and small position changes, are designed to enhance heart health, boost the immune system, and help puppies handle stress later in life. This early stage lays the groundwork for a resilient and well-rounded adult dog.
Early Socialization
As our puppies grow, we begin introducing them to a variety of everyday sights, sounds, and experiences. They are exposed to household noises, different surfaces, new people, and interactions with other friendly pets. This early exposure helps them develop adaptability, curiosity, and comfort in new environments, ensuring they are well-prepared for any situation they may encounter.
Basic Training
Around 6 to 7 weeks old, we begin introducing basic training, including name recognition, gentle crate exposure, potty turf introduction, and simple commands like “sit” and “come” using positive reinforcement. This helps give them a strong foundation before they head to their forever homes.
Health and Well-Being
We prioritize the health and well-being of every puppy. Each one receives essential vaccinations to ensure they are happy and healthy. We also focus on proper nutrition, gradually transitioning them from their mother’s milk to high-quality solid food. Our puppies are cared for with love, providing the best environment for them to grow into happy, well-adjusted companions.
Grooming and Care
Grooming is another important part of our process. We introduce puppies to brushing, nail trimming, and bathing, ensuring they are comfortable with routine care. Teething toys are provided to support their development during this stage, making sure they are used to regular grooming and care routines when they head to their new homes.
Preparing for Their Forever Homes
To make the transition to their new homes easier, each puppy goes home with a special starter kit, which includes essential items to help them settle in. We also match each puppy’s unique temperament with the right family through careful observation, ensuring they are placed in homes where they will thrive. We provide guidance to new owners, offering training tips and advice on how to care for their newest family member.
