Our Story

In 2005, Erin was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This unexpected new way of life forced her to take better care of her body and over time, she turned to a plant-based lifestyle. She ultimately fell into an entirely vegan way of life, a way that has helped to shape Erin's values, beliefs, and ultimately the creation of Lotus Market.

Samantha has always been in tune with the importance of healthy eating for her body and mind. After spending many years with undiagnosed physical ailments, she found support in a holistic chiropractor who was able to help her hone in on the best foods for her body. As she's aged and moved through life, including giving birth to three beautiful babies, she has become passionate about the impact of chemicals in our foods and environment and prioritizes clean beauty and food in her daily life. As she's progressed on her journey in life, she's also found comfort in yoga and meditation. Samantha hopes that Lotus Market will embody of all of these values and practices, and that you too can find solace in the community and vibe that is Lotus.

The lotus flower blooms in the mud. It embraces challenge and change, and rises each morning in the most beautiful and resilient presentation of itself. Lotus Market marks a new chapter for Erin and Samantha, their brilliant rising out of the mud.

Lotus Market is owned and operated by Samantha and Erin, two sisters who have dedicated their lives to caring for others in their community. They saw an opportunity to bring an increased awareness of self-care and wellness, nutritious food options, and a communal space to their coastal community and jumped at the opportunity. They believe that when a peaceful mind and heart are paired with healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices, everyone can live a pretty happy life.

Samantha and Erin would be remiss if they didn't acknowledge that Lotus Market was born out of love from friends and family; love shown in their words of encouragement, their time and money, their wisdom and guidance. They want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who lifted a paint brush, scraped windows, brought coffee and laughter and music, and wholeheartedly believed in the vision.
