Store Tips
About
Players can donate on our store to support the server and receive in-game rewards & perks.
This is a short guide to recommend the best items on the store and explain why they are so highly regarded.
Thank you to all players who have donated!
Most Useful: Fast Travel Cooldown Removal
Fast Travel Cooldown Removal easily gains this title as it lets you completely avoid LOTR Mod waypoint cooldowns.
This is reflected by its popularity; as of 23rd June 2022, it has been purchased 215 times and is the most popular store item of all time.
Note that you do need to manually reset your waypoint cooldown each time using /cooldown or /cd, but this is easily done and soon becomes a habit.
King of the Rings: Magic Attack Ring
The Magic Attack Ring is one of the two original rings added to the server, and is far more useful than its companion, the Magic Defence Ring.
The ring gives you several abilities, including but not limited to:
Invisibility, including invisibility from NPC and mob attacks, including bandits - undoubtedly the best feature of the ring, as it means you can walk the lands of Middle-earth with nothing to fear except the natural terrain and other players. The ring itself can still be seen in your hand, but this is far harder to see than your name tag and body.
Speed II and Jump Boost II - travel with speed and agility!
Night Vision - self-explanatory.
Regeneration - if you do end up taking damage from an attacking player, you can use your agility, speed and invisibility to get away, and your regeneration to regain your health quickly. However this can be quite difficult if your opponent's a good shot!
The full list of abilities is available in the item's description on the store.
The ring is of course very popular among players; as of 23rd June 2022, it has been purchased 155 times and is one of the most popular store items of all time.
Note that this particular ring only works if you're wearing no armour.
Best Ability: Loyalty
Loyalty can be enabled on any spear or throwing axe.
Upon throwing a Loyalty item, the item will be given back to you 10 seconds after hitting its target. Nobody else will be able to pick it up.
This lets you actually use these items for what they were designed for: throwing!
Maxed throwing axes deal little damage against players in maxed armour so aren't the best use for Loyalty - your best bet is to put it on your spears as these do a lot of damage, especially against players clad in Galvorn armour (Galvorn is immune to most other projectiles). The ability also acts as a failsafe in case you accidentally throw your spear when using it in melee - surprisingly common!
However, having a lot of throwing axes in your hotbar will mean you can spam them effectively with Loyalty, as long as your aim is true.
Biggest Flex: Custom Horn
The store has a selection of default Sound Horns available for purchase, which can be blown and play wooden horn sounds from the LOTR and Hobbit movies in a large area around you.
However, a much more expensive and interesting variant is the Custom Horn - this lets you actually submit your own sound, and this can be almost anything: other wooden horns, meme sounds, your own voice or even music!
A Custom Horn can cost anything from £19.99 to £44.99, depending on how long the sound is and on what you submit. You can save a lot of money by submitting a properly-cut MP3 file instead of a YouTube link; more details are available on the application form here.
Flex on a Budget: Jazz Elf
If you don't know what a Jazz Elf is, it's an elf NPC which can only be spawned in with a spawn egg from the store.
The elf plays actual jazz music which can be heard by anyone close by; it's dressed up in a suit and carries a textured saxophone which you can see in the image on the left.
The elf will additionally not damage anything and not take any damage from anything - a necessity if you plan to invite anyone to see it!
You can also put it back into spawn egg form! Just right-click it while sneaking and it will transform into a spawn egg, and be safely deposited into your inventory.
Just be careful to not lose the elf as it will wander around when spawned. A common thing done by jazz elf owners is to build a private display which can't be escaped by the elf.
Best Troll: Hangman's Noose
The Hangman's Noose lets you hang players and most NPCs/mobs!
All you need to do is right-click your victim while standing very close (within 1 block) to start dragging them, then right-click a fence block which has 4 free blocks underneath. Thus ensues certain death.
This hasn't got any effective use in actual PvP unless you're fighting someone who isn't paying attention, since players can escape while being dragged by sneaking and left-clicking the ground. You'll have to get incredibly close and then hang them very quickly, which is easier said than done.
However it's great for trolling in more peaceful settings, and orderly executions!
