The entire parking lot of Peninsula Catholic is available, although to get to the lot closest to the starting line and registration table, just make your first right as you enter campus and park near the school buses. The main building of PCHS will be locked, but the gym doors will be open to allow guests to use the restrooms, water fountains, etc.
The registration table/bib pickup will be near the soccer field, not far from the restrooms
As of now, Saturday morning is predicted to be in the very reasonable "mid-70s" range, although that will creep up as the day moves on. Whatever the temperature, it's important to drink plenty of water on the days leading up to a race to ensure your body is fully ready for a summer workout. We will distribute bottled water to each walk/run participant as they cross the finish line, and there will be one hydration station that racers will pass multiple times throughout the event. The water fountains in the school will be available for anyone who needs to refill their own water bottles etc.
In just three months of advertising, we raised about $3300 for charity. Thank you so much for signing up even though this race lacked a T-shirt and, initially, medals. Next year, we hope to not only repeat this success, but also grow the event to the point where we can add shirts and more awards broken down by age and gender categories, and still donate even more to charity than we did our freshmen year.
As a "thank you" for helping us put this first event together, shortly after the race we'll offer registration for next year's event at a special discount, just for those of you who supported us before we had medals and T-shirts and bounce houses and everything else. Your kindness is truly appreciated, and together, we made a big positive impact in the lives of sick children and their families and the community as a whole.
So if you agree that this was an incredible way to make the world a better place, or if you enjoy our course that winds through woods and around the campus of Peninsula Catholic High School, and you're interested in doing it again next year, keep your eye on your email in the days after the race.
Sweet Frog is sending a truck, so if you're bringing a sweet tooth, some kids, or need a delicious way to cool down at the end of the race, bring some spending money!

Currently no rain at all is forecasted for Saturday June 29th. But you all know Virginia weather! So just so you're aware, we'll hold the race rain or shine, as long as weather conditions remain reasonable; however, if rain becomes too heavy the trail through the woods may become excessively muddy and unfit for competition. The presence of lightning will also postpone and potentially cancel the race.
While this event is non-refundable, in the case of very bad weather we'll attempt first to relocate and then to reschedule the event. In either case, PTC will likely be unable to time and score the "backup race," although we will hand-score the teams and distribute our top finisher medals accordingly. So in case the weather folks are wrong and we get heavy rain all week, be on the lookout for updates in the days ahead. But hopefully this is just a precaution: currently, the forecast is clear!
