Howdy! My name is Lorenz. I’m an audio engineer, podcast producer, musician, and gear enthusiast from the San Francisco Bay Area. As a recent graduate of Chico State’s Recording Arts program, I’m continuing to build on my passion for music, sound, and all things audio.
I’m drawn to audio engineering because it brings together creativity, precision, problem-solving, and a healthy amount of fun. I work across tracking, mixing, mastering, podcast editing, location sound, and sound design, with the goal of making each project feel polished, intentional, and true to the people behind it.
I’ve also been a lifelong gearhead. Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time buying, selling, fixing, and collecting instruments and musical equipment. Somewhere along the way, that curiosity turned into hands-on skills in repair, soldering, troubleshooting, and restoration. There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a piece of gear that has been written off and helping it make sound again.
This site is a place to share my work, services, and projects I’ve been lucky enough to be part of. Whether it’s recording a song, refining a podcast, creating sounds for film or media, or bringing a beloved instrument back to life, I approach each project with care, creativity, and attention to detail.
Thanks for stopping by. Reach out if you want to talk audio, ask a question, or work together on a project
During my time in Chico, I worked as an audio production intern at KZFR, a local nonprofit, volunteer-run radio station. I helped edit and produce a weekly 30-minute news podcast for broadcast and online release, shaping interviews, narration, music, and sound elements into clear, engaging stories. I enjoy the balance of technical cleanup and creative decision-making that podcast work requires, from reducing noise and tightening pacing to making conversations feel natural and easy to follow.

I offer recording, editing, mixing, and general audio production support for artists, musicians, podcasters, and creative projects. As a musician myself, I understand how personal the recording process can be, and I enjoy helping people bring their ideas into focus. Whether you need help capturing a performance, organizing a session, cleaning up tracks, or shaping a mix, I’m happy to support the process wherever it’s needed.
Note: Some of the images shown Include equipment and spaces owned by CU Denver and Chico State. As such availability and access to said equipment Is not guaranteed.
I’ve worked on a variety of student and independent film projects, contributing location sound, mixing, and sound design. Film audio has given me the chance to think about sound as both a technical craft and a storytelling tool, whether that means capturing clean dialogue on set or building subtle design elements that support the scene. I’m always interested in collaborating on film, video, and media projects of all sizes.
Alongside recording and production, I have a strong interest in instrument and gear repair. I work most often on guitars and basses, including basic setup work, maintenance, troubleshooting, wiring, and small repairs. I also have experience with soldering, pedal projects, and light electronics work. Whether you have a guitar that needs attention or a piece of gear you’re trying to get back in working condition, I’m happy to take a look and talk through what might be possible.
For project inquiries, questions, or general audio and gear talk, feel free to reach out by email or Instagram. I’m happy to discuss recording, mixing, podcast editing, sound work, repairs, or possible collaborations.
