Dear ________________,
I am a resident of District ____ in Boulder County writing to formally and urgently request that Boulder County halt the planned Middle Boulder Creek Fuels Reduction Partnership Project near the town of Nederland.
I have lived in Boulder County for ________ and _____talk about your experience with Boulder County Parks & Open Space_____. I appreciate your efforts to keep residents safe from wildfires, however I feel concerned about this project and the larger wildfire management strategy of thinning, patch cuts (clear cuts), and "fuels" reductions, as it is not based in science and is actively harmful to our environment.
I am most concerned about _______select an impact of this project (listed here, or your own) and talk about why you care________.
I am requesting the following:
1. An immediate suspension of all "fuels" management work at this project and other similar projects in Boulder County.
2. A reallocation of the funds meant for these thinning and "fuels" management projects to help community members develop evacuation strategies, fire fighting technologies, early detection and warning systems, education, and home defense improvements.
I ask that you treat this matter with urgency. Please respond with clear next steps.
Thank you for your time,
