Conference Food and Drinks
On Monday there will coffee/tea and pastries during the registration at the Chemistry West Block, Lecture Theatre E.
Following the Monday problem session (5:30pm) we will be hosting a drinks reception at the school of mathematics with wine, soft drinks and fruit/snacks.
Everyday there will be a mid-morning and mid-afternoon coffee/tea delivery with accompanying fruit and cakes for the breaks.
Lunch will be provided daily in the reading room of the school of mathematics.
The conference dinner will take place at Kendell's Bistro on Wednesday at 7pm.
Alternatives for Lunch/Coffee
Outside of the conference there are a few nice places for lunch and coffee across the road from the main university campus on woodhouse lane, in particular:
For fresh sandwiches we recommend Bakery 164 which is located directly opposite the university campus on Woodhouse lane.
For coffee we recommend Opposite Café, who also sell sandwiches and salads. They have inside seating and weather permitting, a nice outside seating area.
There is also a Tesco supermarket on woodhouse lane providing packaged lunches and simple essentials.
Leeds is a nice city to walk around and hosts a large variety of restaurants, with most restaurants providing options for all dietary requirements. A few notable dinner options include:
- Veritas, nice English pub food with a good selection of beers. Good for big groups.
- The Reliance, Gourmet pub food with nice drink options.
- Hansas, highly recommended, vegetarian/vegan Indian (Gujurati) food, reasonably priced.
- My Thai, good Thai food, reasonably priced.
- The Assembly, a collection of pop-up food venders from around the world. Good for big groups.

Leeds is a lively city with many nice places for a drink. Near the university campus we have:
- The Fenton pub, popular with Phd students from the department due cheap drinks and close proximity to the university.
In the city centre:
- North bar, a vast collection of local beers and spirits.
- Sela bar, pizza is served every day until midnight. Most Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays there is live music from around 8/9pm usually in the form of jazz/funk/soul/reggae.
- Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen, name says it all, food options are limited to pizza and burgers (with vegetarian/vegan options available).
- Nation of shopkeepers, trendy food/drink spot, sometimes live music.
- The Angel, local friendly pub, located in the centre of Leeds providing cheap drinks.
- Wharf chambers, hipster venue with live music most nights.
