Mission

Longview Farm is a family owned and operated beef cattle farm raising registered Simmental cattle. We produce docile working cattle that have high weaning weight and yearling weight genotypes in order to provide commercial producers cattle that can deliver profitable returns.

Data Collection and Reporting

We submit data to the American Simmental Association (ASA). ASA maintains the largest multi-breed cattle genomic evaluation in the world. That means that a lot of data is collected which result in more accurate EPDs. We participate in Total Herd Enrollment (THE) which means that we report data on all cows and calves, not just the best ones. Additionally, DNA samples are taken on all bulls for Genomic Enhanced EPDs. All heifers are maintained as a contemporary group and on farm tested on forage until breeding at 14-15 months of age.
