We couldn't do what we do without an expansive group of parent volunteers and we're always looking for more! Below are all of the current opportunities we have for volunteering. Ah the school carnival! Children running everywhere, popcorn scenting the air, the soothing background sounds of air blowers keeping the bounce house inflated. You can be a part of these special memories by volunteering for the 5th Grade Carnival committee! Share your (and your children's ideas) for how this year's carnival can be even more spectacular, help with booths and set up/breakdown on the day of, convince a teacher to agree to a dunk tank. There are so many ways you can help out with the carnival and the more hands we have the better the event will be! If you're interested in helping with the 5th Grade Carnival reach out!
The epitome of an elementary school experience, the Scholastic Book Fair is a tradition a child should never miss. Deciding which book to pick, debating whether they would prefer the holographic bookmark or seven different tiny erasers, and proudly handing their teacher a book from the classroom wish list - these are important experiences! Help make them live on by volunteering for the book fair committee. From vendor coordination, to set up and break down, to helping kids find the books they can't live without there are so many different ways to help!
The treasured tradition of the Halloween Hustle lives on!! While you may already be strapping on your running shoes to participate in this annual 5K run/walk we could also use your help in making sure it runs smoothly. Whether you help out by spreading the word, decorating for the race, checking people in, or just making to do lists to keep people on track we need you!
Do you ever pop by after school hours to let your kids play on the playground? Do you ever drive past the green and glance over at Center School and think "man that school is the cutest!" Do you ever just feel the need to plant some annuals? The School Beautification Committee needs you! We need a chairperson to lead the charge, volunteers to keep an eye on any weeds that might dare to grow in our garden beds, and you to show your pride in our school with a little bit of elbow grease. You can even rope your children into helping!
5th grade. What an exciting year! The last year in elementary school before you head off to the great magical unknown of middle school. Help make sure your children never forget their sweet formative elementary years by joining the 5th Grade Memory book committee.
A newer Center School tradition, but one that is loved by all, a week of celebrating our students. January can be cold and long and a bit of a letdown after the holidays. We fill one week in January with engaging assemblies, some treats, and some awesome decorations.
