I am an Analyst at Synergy, Western Australia’s leading energy generator and retailer, where I support strategic and commercial decision-making through electricity demand and revenue modelling. I also prepare the State Budget Forecast, aligning market insights with business expectations to guide long-term planning.
In previous roles at Synergy, I delivered advanced workforce business-intelligence analytics and conducted research on Australian labour market trends to inform corporate strategy. My work has supported diverse strategic priorities including employee engagement, industrial relations, talent acquisition and retention, remuneration and benefits, organisational design, and inclusion and diversity.
Alongside my industry role, I hold Research Fellow appointments at the University of Western Australia (UWA) Business School and the Planning and Transport Research Centre (PATREC)—a collaboration between the Government of Western Australia, UWA, and local universities dedicated to applied research and policy development in transport and land use planning. I am also a member of the Australian Institute of Energy and an alumnus of the Australia–Vietnam Leadership Dialogue.
Previously, I served as a Research Officer and Teaching Fellow at UWA Business School and the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University, and as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Finance, Banking and Business Administration, Quy Nhon University, Vietnam.
My academic research spans international trade, finance, and macroeconomics. I have modelled global demand for energy, food, and agricultural commodities, examined currency misvaluation, and contributed to financial asset pricing through analyses of high-frequency returns and volatilities. More broadly, my work explores how technological innovation, intangible capital investment, and transport networks drive structural economic transformation and productivity growth.
My research has been published in leading journals including Transportation Research Part A, Economic Modelling, Review of Income and Wealth, Journal of Economic Surveys, World Economy, Open Economies Review, Economic Papers, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Energy Reports, and the North American Journal of Economics and Finance.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Western Australia, supported by an Australian Government Postgraduate Research Award, and a Master of Commerce in Finance from Victoria University of Wellington, funded by a New Zealand Government ASEAN Scholar Award.
