Lola has been struggling in finding her own art style. Will her friends be able to help her?
Hello, hello! My name is Stacy Ramirez. I've been interested in art and comics for as long as I can remember. I'm aiming to pursue a career as an illustrator. I've done commissions in the past ranging from scene illustrations and character designing. I'll be graduating this May 2024 with an Associate's Degree in Digital Media Arts and I'm hoping to possibly pursue a higher art education later in the future.
Lola's Dilemma is sort of inspired by my own experience as an artist. I started taking art seriously when I was in middle school and struggled to find an art style that I was proud of. I wanted to be just as good as the ones I saw as "professionals". Through the help of my friends, I was able to focus on my own style and let it flourish on its own, taking into account the artists that have inspired me along the way. There are still some days when I see people younger than me with styles that are more incredibly advanced than mine and there's nothing wrong in admitting that it gives me a tinge of jealousy and a case of imposter syndrome. I push away these thoughts by reminding myself that my art style is good as it is by being unique in its own way.
