Abstract: Wildfires are uncontrollable disasters that cause damage to society as well as endanger nature. Using IoT and image classification, fire detection technology may avoid numerous problems with traditional approaches and identify fires efficiently. To achieve this, the method used is YOLO v5 object detection has unique advantages over other object detection. Thus, a new model could be created to detect fire in the forest as soon as possible and provide an alert to the nearby forest department.
Proposed System
The YOLO v5 model is used to divide the captured image into a grid system and each grid detects objects so that even a small fire can be detected and informed in advance.
To detect the forest fire in advance and for efficiency purposes,CO2 sensors, temperature sensors, and smoke sensors are used with a threshold value set according to the case study of that place, which is more reliable, less costly, and has a long lifetime.
The GPS sensor is used to find the location where the fire occurs and to know the time of the start of the fire.GSM module is used to send the message to the nearby department.
