• Logitech Astro A50 — biggest strength: PLAYSYNC AUDIO lets you connect to three systems at once and hop between Xbox, PS5, PC/Mac or Switch with a single on-ear button, backed by 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless and a 48 kHz boom mic.
• Logitech Astro A50 — biggest trade-off: It is a gaming-first, multi-platform rig that depends on its Base Station dock, and there is no active noise cancelling at all.
• JLab — biggest strength: 90+ hours of playtime without ANC (60+ with Adaptive ANC on) plus a wireless charging dock, adaptive noise cancelling up to 42 dB and Hi-Res certified audio.
• JLab — biggest trade-off: Bluetooth-only wireless with no dedicated low-latency gaming transmitter and no boom mic — its calling relies on four built-in mics.
• Who the A50 is for: console and PC players who live in party chat and want one headset across several systems.
• Who JLab is for: commuters, travellers, students and remote workers who want long battery, noise cancelling and touch controls for music and calls.
The A50's headline trick is PLAYSYNC AUDIO. It connects to three platforms at once over USB-C and lets you tap between Xbox, PS5, PC/Mac or Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 from an on-ear control. In practice, that means you can leave it paired to your console and your PC and still take a Discord call on your phone, because Bluetooth dual-device mixing lets you blend mobile comms or music into your game audio. If your setup is a console plus a laptop plus a phone, this is the kind of headset that removes the "which device am I plugged into" problem entirely.
Audio and voice are clearly the priority here. The PRO-G GRAPHENE drivers are 40 mm with live-edge technology, tuned for separation and positional accuracy — the stuff that matters when you are trying to hear footsteps and reloads rather than just enjoy a soundtrack. The boom mic runs at 48 kHz full bandwidth, which is a genuinely high bar for voice quality. And 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless on PC is uncompressed, low-latency audio rather than a compressed Bluetooth stream. A 7-core DSP handles game sound shaping, and the settings save on the headset itself, so your tuning follows you as you switch systems. G HUB and the G mobile app open up a 10-band parametric EQ, mic settings, a noise gate and stream output mixing.
The trade-offs are real. Battery life is about 24 hours, and the design leans on the included Base Station magnetic charging dock to keep it topped up — so you are committing to a desk or shelf spot for it. It weighs 363 g, which is on the heavier side for long sessions. There is no active noise cancelling, so it will not quiet a plane cabin or a noisy office. And the frequency response tops out at 20 Hz–48 kHz with 35 ohm impedance and no analogue jack at all — this is a wireless-only, gaming-first device.
Buy it if you game across multiple systems, care about mic quality in party chat, and want low-latency wireless on PC. Skip it if you mainly listen to music on the move, want ANC, or refuse to deal with a charging dock.
JLab's Epic Lux Lab Edition plays a completely different game. Its defining number is 90+ hours of total playtime without ANC — and still 60+ hours with Adaptive ANC switched on. That is the kind of figure that means you can leave them charging on Monday and not think about power again all week. A wireless charging dock is included too, so topping up is a drop-on-the-pad routine rather than a cable hunt. For anyone who has ever had headphones die mid-flight, this is the whole pitch.
The listening features are tuned for music and travel rather than competitive play. The 32 mm dynamic drivers are Hi-Res Audio certified via LDAC on Android and AAC on iOS, with a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz range. Adaptive ANC cuts environmental noise by up to 42 dB and continuously adjusts to your surroundings, and Be Aware mode brings the world back in — including a quick palm-press on the right earcup for a temporary transparency moment, after which ANC resumes on its own. Lab Spatial Audio with head tracking adds a three-dimensional feel, which is a nice touch for films and immersive tracks.
Comfort and control get serious attention. The Form-Fit earcups with Cloud Foam cushions are built to spread pressure evenly, which is exactly what you want for a full workday or a cross-country flight, and the enclosure mixes faux leather, metal and plastic in a Cloud White finish. Swipe and tap controls mean you adjust without digging for buttons, and a premium carry case is in the box. Bluetooth multipoint holds two devices at once — laptop and phone, Android and PC — and switches audio between them without re-pairing, with Google Fast Pair for quick Android setup. Four microphones with environmental noise reduction handle calls. The JLab App adds an 8-band EQ, ANC and Be Aware control, LabShare wireless audio sharing, and a safe-hearing volume limit.
What you give up: there is no boom mic, so voice capture is entirely down to those built-in mics, and there is no dedicated low-latency transmitter for console gaming. It's Bluetooth 5 only.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for multi-platform gaming → Logitech Astro A50. PLAYSYNC AUDIO switches between three systems at once; JLab is Bluetooth-only.
• Best for battery life → JLab. 90+ hours without ANC versus roughly 24 hours on the A50.
• Best for voice chat and streaming → Logitech Astro A50. The 48 kHz full-bandwidth boom mic and stream output mixing are built for it.
• Best for travel and commuting → JLab. Adaptive ANC up to 42 dB, Be Aware mode and a carry case.
• Best for long listening sessions → JLab. Cloud Foam earcups and a lighter, comfort-first design; the A50 sits at 363 g.
• Best for PC audio quality and tuning → Logitech Astro A50. 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless plus a 10-band parametric EQ via G HUB.
• Best for switching between a phone and a laptop → JLab. Bluetooth multipoint on two devices with Google Fast Pair.
• Best for a desk-bound setup → Logitech Astro A50. The Base Station dock keeps it charged and ready; JLab's dock is more of a weekly top-up.
In my opinion, these two barely compete for the same buyer — so I'd pick based on what your ears are actually doing all day. If your priority is winning fights in party chat across a console and a PC, I would buy the Logitech Astro A50: PLAYSYNC, the 48 kHz boom mic and 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless are the reasons, and no ANC is a fair price to pay. If your priority is silence on a plane, a week of battery and comfortable music all day, I would buy JLab: 90+ hours, Adaptive ANC and multipoint make it the more versatile everyday companion. Only one of them is a gaming rig; only one of them is a travel headphone. Decide which life you have.
For gaming specifically, yes — in my opinion. The A50 has a dedicated 2.4 GHz LIGHTSPEED connection, a boom mic, 7-core DSP and PLAYSYNC switching across three systems. JLab is a Bluetooth headphone with no gaming transmitter, so it's better suited to music, calls and travel.
JLab, clearly. It's rated at 90+ hours without ANC and 60+ with Adaptive ANC on, versus roughly 24 hours for the A50. If you hate charging, JLab wins on this spec alone.
JLab does — Adaptive ANC rated to cut noise by up to 42 dB, plus a Be Aware transparency mode. The A50 has no active noise cancelling at all; it's built for game audio and voice chat, not blocking out a cabin or open office.
If "everything" means console and PC gaming plus phone chat, the A50 is the more capable fit. If "everything" means commuting, working, flights and music, JLab covers more ground. Check the current price on Amazon for each before deciding, since value depends on what you're paying today.
