My child doesn't like math. Would he enjoy the event?
We are inviting everyone to the Festival, and we are especially glad to see the kids who think that they don’t like math. One of our goals is to show the kids the world of math beyond multiplication tables, formulas, and textbooks. We are positive that every child will find activities that he or she will enjoy.
What age group is the Festival for?
Most of the activities are designed for children ages 5 to 12. Three and 4-year-olds will be able to participate in a limited number of activities.
Can I bring my 2-year-old?
The Festival's activities are designed for children in the 5-12 age range. While you can bring your toddler to the event, keep in mind that we are not planning to have stations for young kids.
Do I have to stay with my child during the event?
Our Festival is an event for the whole family, designed to introduce kids and adults to the wonderful world of extracurricular mathematics. If you cannot come to the Festival with your child, she can join another group of parents and children. We are unable to monitor the children outside of the math stations.
Why do I need to buy a ticket to this event?
Math Festivals are large-scale, expensive events that require months of preparation and collaboration between many parties, as well as tons of space and materials. We appreciate your support in helping us make this Festival happen.
Note: if your company would like to sponsor our Festival, please contact us at SeattleMathFest@gmail.com.
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! Please find more information about volunteering here: Volunteers.
I bought tickets, but I can't make it to the Festival. Now what?
The tickets are non-refundable. However, they are transferable and can be used by another family. Do you know anyone who would like to attend?
