The app is a customizable offline hymnal that can be searched by hymn number, categories, title or chorus. 

Full Description:

HymnApp is an offline hymnal software that allow users to create and save up to four different  personalized compilations from an inbuilt collection of hymns; and to search each either by first letter of title, first letter of chorus, category or by hymn number. Copies created can be renamed, recompiled or deleted at will. This is to allow for the creation of collections that are arranged and numbered to users’ requirements or to match the hymnbooks of different local Christian assemblies.

This edition consists of lyrics, short tunes, sheet music and author’s portrait of 1,117 titles in the public domain, of which about 500 are rated among the most popular traditional spiritual songs and Christian hymns in the USA and UK. This release also contains over 80 Christmas songs among  44 other hymn categories.

Our prayer is  that users of this app will not only enjoy the timeless beauty of these songs but will be greatly blessed and positively impacted as they use it in Christian private worship and communal services. 

Features:

Create hymnbook:

Initial collection consists of two hymnbooks: ‘General hymnbook’ (a reference collection that is unalterable) and ‘Personal hymnbook’ that can be renamed, edited or deleted. Select this hymnbook and click on “Create’ to create a new hymnbook. After supplying a name for the hymnbook and clicking again on ‘Create’ in the following dialog, the full list of hymns are displayed. Hymns whose number fields are empty or “0’ will not be included in the new hymnbook. Click on the number fields and edit as desired for each hymn and then click on ‘Save’. Navigate back to the home page to see the newly created hymnbook. Each new hymnbook can also be selected to form the basis for subsequent ones.

Edit hymnbook:

Select the radio button for a hymnbook and click on ‘Edit’ and continue as in create above. The ‘General hymnbook’ cannot be edited, deleted or renamed

Delete hymnbook:

Select the hymnbook and click on ‘Delete’. The hymnbook will be deleted upon confirmation in the following dialog box. 

Rename hymnbook:

Select hymnbook and click on ‘Rename’. A dialog box will open where the new name can be entered. 

Search for hymns:

Select a hymnbook from which the search will be made, then click on the relevant options to search either by:

1. All Titles

2. Categories

3. First Letter of Title

4. First Letter of chorus

5. Hymn number.

Click on the hymn title from the list displayed to navigate to the lyrics page.

Favorites list, short tunes, sheet music and authors’ portrait:

From the lyrics page you can click on the relevant button to either play a short tune or toggle the favourite status of a hymn. Additionally, the top three most visited hymns are added to the favourite list by default. The favourite list can be accessed by clicking on the favourite button on the home screen.

Users can also click on the PDF icon on the lyrics page to navigate to the sheet music/author’s portrait screen for each hymn.
