A SHORT AND SWEET MUSICAL
A tale of three choirboys who stumble over one another in a quest for love.
Music: Sonata in F major, op. 53, 1st movement
A prelude to welcome the audience before the show starts.
Music: Brotherly Dream, op. 51, 1st movement
James, Lucas, and Peter begin by singing about their friendship in the school choir. But once night falls and the three friends leave school for the day, they begin to long for each other's company, realizing the value of their time. James also discovers that he is in love with Lucas.
Music: Arabesque, op. 44
A new "Covid-19" plague cancels school for good, leaving the boys to sit through the quarantine at home. In-person hangouts become a memory of the past, or so they think...
Music: Andante in A-flat minor, op. 46 (excerpt)
A month passes by and Lucas still remains hesitant to see James in person. Nevertheless, Lucas tries his best to reassure James of their friendship over the phone.
Music: Pop and Jazz, op. 47
James does not seem convinced by Lucas' words of comfort, knowing that the friendship is not the same without the two of them having fun in person. Through this song, James revisits those memories and expresses a desire to reunite with the boy he loves most.
Music: Brotherly Dream, 2nd movement (with extended introduction)
Having been neglected by Lucas, James sees an opportunity to become romantic with Peter and fulfill the desires that Lucas could not meet.
Music: Lost in the Dark, op. 52, 1st movement (with extended intro)
Although at first glance James and Peter may have found love in each other, James' heart is still not quite diverted off of Lucas-- considering that James had loved Lucas first. Lucas' decision to take a break from the friendship only makes matters worse by leaving James to fend for himself.
Music: Lost in the Dark, 2nd movement (with extended intro)
James comes to terms with his unrequited love for Lucas as he reflects on their memories together and vows to be a trustworthy friend.
Music: Lost in the Dark, 3rd movement (Polka)
James and Peter enjoy their romance over the dance floor.
Music: Lost in the Dark, 4th movement
Lucas finally takes note of James and Peter's mutual love and returns for their three-way friendship once again.
Music: Brotherly Dream, 3rd movement
James reflects on Lucas' brotherly friendship and Peter's love before all three boys sing a harmonious combination of their musical themes.
