Below and to the left are examples of a sample budget I created for the fictitious "Treasure Valley High School Band and Orchestra Program". This illustrates my ability to balance an annual budget with projected intermediate and long term goals for the program. Although this was created with an actual program in mind, it can easily be adapted to a specific District and/or school.
The sample itinerary to the left is for a marching band competition, based off of my own experiences in Texas. It provides important details from lodging; descriptions and times of activities, tasks, locations, etc., that are readily available for students, parents, and administrators to know exactly where we will be and what we will be doing at all times. This can easily be adapted to any type of travel, e.g.. from a local day trip to an extended trip to Disney World.
The Google Sheet to the right is an example of the level of administrative success I have achieved in previous positions. For context, for the 2025 Tournament of Rose's trip, we had a bus take people to Cheyenne, where we flew a charter flight to California. Upon landing, we had to ensure everyone could fit onto 4 busses, as the 5th bus picked up members that flew commercially from across the country. Then once in Pasadena, we switched back to using our five busses that we booked. Each of these can be found by changing tabs in the document below. This level of detail and expectation are highlights of my areas of expertise.
I arranged this piece originally written for piano by Bela Bartok which illustrates my ability to transcribe music into written form or interpret into a new piece in an effort to make music more accessible to a student. As a student teacher, I have utilized this skill to simplify parts for use in pep bands and to build confidence in students to keep them participating in ensembles. To the right is the PDF of the score I created, and below is the recording of the piece by Symphonic Winds in the Spring of 2022.
I had the opportunity to transcribe a piece of music for trombone and piano from the original Tenor voice and piano for my senior recital. The PDF to the left shows my draft with additional phrase markings/articulations added as I went along. This skill will enable me to identify pieces that I can transcribe for other instruments in an effort to make music more accessible for all of my future students.
