What is chiropractic?

The practice of chiropractic focuses on the connection between structure of the body and function of the body, and how the structure and function preserve and restore health.

The movable bones of the spine protect the vital information travelling from the brain to the rest of the body. If these movable bones are not functioning well, or restricted, the messages from the brain may be impaired. This dysfunction can cause incorrect or insufficient information to the tissues and organs throughout the body.

The chiropractic approach to improve health is to locate and help reduce interference to your natural state of being healthy. Chiropractors use manual treatments, referred to as spinal adjustments, to remove these restrictions in the joints of the spine. Once the mechanical structure of the spine is working properly, the body is better able to maintain its own health and well-being.

Patients regularly respond to conservative chiropractic care for ailments such as headaches, shoulder pain, knee pain, back pain and neck pain (including radicular pain, caused by bulging discs).

Nicole takes a special interest in shoulder dysfunction and continually undertakes further study examining the bio-mechanics on how the shoulder articulates with the thoracic vertebra and affects the function of the neck; more importantly, she is learning how to restore motion to the shoulder joints.

30-01-2020 Update... Nicole has recently had a bout of patients coming through with plantar fasciitis. She has undertaken further research on how to treat it and has been teaching them how to work on their plantar fascia at home using an easily obtainable household item.
