Master Lynn Rex Myers is the founder of White Tiger Kenpo Karate. With nearly 40 years of experience as a martial artist, he holds advanced-rank black belts in three separate martial arts, earned from a lifetime as a martial arts student, tournament competitor, and teacher.
Mr. Myers entered martial arts through Korean martial arts. He received his black belt in Chung Do Kwan Tang Soo Do, commonly called "Old School Tae Kwon Do" or "Korean Karate," in which he holds a third-degree black belt. Mr. Myers's second martial art is Chiryoku Rikiji, a sparring-focused karate style. He was promoted to black belt by the style's founder, Grandmaster Brent Undhjem, who later awarded Mr. Myers a "masters belt" (the Chiryoku red belt) after Mr. Myers competed in the Internationals in Las Vegas.
Mr. Myers's final martial art is Kenpo Karate, which he has dedicated his career to teaching, studying, and promoting. In 2013, Master Myers was rank-match promoted by his Kenpo instructor, Grandmaster Tony Martinez Sr., a first-generation student of Founding Grandmaster Ed Parker, and awarded a 5th-degree black belt in Chinese Kenpo. Under Grandmaster Martinez, Master Myers now holds an 8th-degree black belt.
Mr. Myers is a member of the advisory board for the Ultimate Impact American Kenpo Alliance (UIAKA) and an ambassador for Ed Parker II's Paxial Arts system. He is the host of the annual UIAKA Open-Style Tournament, the largest karate tournament in Cache Valley, every spring. Outside of karate, he has a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation and studied rehabilitation counseling at the University of Utah.
Lynn Myers and several of his top black belts currently teach at Logan Kenpo Academy in North Logan, Utah. He also offers private and small-group instruction.
