American Kenpo is a self-defense and martial arts system developed by Senior Grandmaster Ed Parker in the early 1960s. It is a martial art with Chinese and Japanese roots that came to the United States through immigrants to Hawaii that has been modernized for current-day self-defense. Chung Do Kwan is a Korean martial art and precursor to modern Tae Kwon Do, with Japanese and Okinawan origins, that places heavy focus on forms, striking and kicking, and sparring. Mr. Myers has over 40 years of experience in Chung Do Kwan-style Tang Soo Do and blends the curriculum with Kenpo Karate.
Chiryoku is a form of karate developed here in Northern Utah that emphasizes sparring and tournament fighting. Master Myers combines the principles of American & Chinese Kenpo with the direct sparring approach of Chiryoku to create well-rounded students able to compete in intensive sparring in a safe and effective environment.
