In 2004, a small group of Lutheran lay people — prompted by the glory of the mountains in the fall and the excitement of learning new things about our faith — organized a weekend retreat (at that time held in Canmore), that would combine first-rate speakers on theological topics with plenty of time for enjoying the outdoors, forming and nurturing friendships, eating together, and participating in worship.
Formerly known as Retreat Of Our Own, it became LOFT Retreat in 2025, as we continue to broaden our community and Live Our Faith Together.

Retreat of our own, 2024 was well received!
Rev. Clara King, a priest in the Anglican diocese of Calgary, is a very dynamic person and inspiring teacher. She led an interesting discussion about Peter’s growth from an impetuous young teenage disciple to one of the church’s greatest leaders. We have lots we can learn from his leadership journey.
