Radio data reduction team: Roland Timmerman, Emmy Escott, Frits Sweijen (Cyril Tasse, Reinout van Weeren, Tim Shimwell, Leah Morabito)
This team will lead the scheduling of the observations, the processing of individual datasets, and the final imaging of the field at multiple resolutions, including:
High resolution: 0.25"
Intermediate resolution: ~2"
Standard resolution: 6"
They will be responsible for ensuring data management and quality control, and preparing the radio data for public release.
Multi-wavelength analysis team: Rohit Kondapally, Catherine Hale, Lara Alegre, (Kasia Małek, Ken Duncan, Roberto Scaramella, Philip Best)
This team will lead the compilation of multi-wavelength data for science exploitation, including:
detection of sources in the radio images
source association, and cross-matching with multi-wavelength data (including Euclid)
producing photometric redshifts
source classification (e.g. SFG vs AGN) and characterisation of host galaxy properties
They will be responsible for preparing value-added catalogues for public release.
Coordination with other science areas and surveys:
We intend to work closely with other LOFAR2 science area. In particular we have defined coordinators to other key proposals
transients and variable sources: Antonia Rowlinson
polarisation and cosmic magnetism: Sara Piras, Vijay Mahatma (Cathy Horellou, Shane O'Sullivan, Isabella Prandoni, Valentina Vacca)
comparison with simulations: Nicole Thomas (Martin Hardcastle)
Our connection to ongoing wide-area HBA and LBA surveys with LOFAR and LOFAR2 is ensured through our radio data reduction team.
LUDO is an open collaboration for anyone in the scientific community to join, regardless of previous LOFAR experience. We are particularly keen to encourage early-career researchers to join the team. We reach out to collaborators from LOFAR partner countries, but also to researchers outside the current LOFAR collaboration. To apply for membership, please provide your contact details and a short description of why you want to join, and what you would bring to the collaboration. Our collaboration aims to be an inclusive and welcoming environment. Members must adhere to the code of conduct, which is given below.
We are committed to creating a collaboration that is safe, professional, and of mutual trust where diversity and inclusion are valued, and where everyone is is entitled to be treated with courtesy and respect. We will not tolerate harassment of collaboration members in any form. This includes any events or collaboration meetings which are run by the LUDO collaboration, and applies to electronic communication such as email or Slack.
Please follow these guidelines:
1. Behave professionally. Harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or jokes are not appropriate. Harassment includes sustained disruption of others when they are speaking, inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention or innuendo, deliberate intimidation, stalking, and photography or recording of an individual without consent. It also includes offensive comments related to individual characteristics, for example: age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, nationality or religion.
2. All communication should be appropriate for a professional setting including people of many different backgrounds. Sexual or sexist language and imagery is not appropriate.
3. Be respectful and do not insult or put down others in the collaboration. Critique ideas not people.
4. Should a collaboration member witness events of bullying, harassment or aggression, we recommend that they approach the affected person to show support and check how they are. The witness may also wish to suggest that the person report the inappropriate behaviour. However, it is up to the affected person alone whether or not they wish to report it.
The LUDO collaboration has two members who are designated as the contact points for all matters related to this code. Members can report any violation of these guidelines to these designates in confidence. If asked to stop inappropriate behaviour, members are expected to comply immediately and, in serious cases, may be asked to leave the collaboration. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone reporting violations of this code of conduct.
Thank you for helping to make our collaboration welcoming for all.
