LockThoughts is designed with a privacy-first approach.

All supported sensitive note content is encrypted locally on your device using strong encryption methods.

Envelope encryption architecture
App lock protection
Biometric authentication
Pattern/PIN protection
Per-note locking features

Encryption keys are generated and managed locally on your device.

We do not have access to your encrypted notes or security credentials.

3. Camera & Microphone Access

Some optional features require device permissions:

Camera

Used for:

Document scanning
Image attachments
Intruder selfie feature after failed unlock attempts

Images captured remain stored locally unless the user exports or shares them.

Microphone

Used for:

Voice note recording

Voice recordings remain stored locally on the device.

4. Notifications

LockThoughts may request notification permission for:

Reminders
Local note alerts

Notifications are generated locally on-device.

5. Biometric Authentication

If enabled by the user, LockThoughts may use biometric authentication provided by your device operating system, such as fingerprint or face unlock.

Biometric data is never accessed directly by LockThoughts and is handled securely by the device operating system.

6. Backup & Restore

The app supports encrypted local backup and restore functionality.

Backup files are stored only in locations selected by the user and remain encrypted.

Users are responsible for securely storing their backup files and passwords.

7. Internet & Network Usage

LockThoughts is primarily an offline-first application.

At the current release phase, the app does not require user accounts or cloud synchronization.

The app does not sell user data.

The app does not intentionally collect personal information for advertising purposes.

8. Third-Party Services

Depending on enabled features, the app may use trusted platform services such as:

Android Biometric APIs
ML Kit for document scanning and on-device processing
System notification services

These services may operate under their own privacy policies.

9. Children’s Privacy

LockThoughts is not directed toward children under the age required by local laws for independent app usage.

10. Data Deletion

Users can delete notes, backups, attachments, and app data at any time directly from the application or device settings.

Deleted items moved to Trash may remain recoverable until permanently removed by the user.

Upcoming features may include:

Hidden Vault
Secure sharing
On-device AI features
Stealth mode
Self-destruct notes

If future updates introduce cloud services, online synchronization, analytics, or additional data handling practices, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
