Privacy Policy for Locked In
Privacy Policy for Locked In
|---|---|
This Privacy Policy explains how **Locked In** ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"),
published by **ITOne Uz**, handles information when you use the App. The App is a
focus and productivity tool that provides a Pomodoro-style timer, an app blocker,
and personal usage statistics.
We have designed Locked In to be **privacy-first**: all of your personal focus
data stays on your device. We do not operate any servers, we do not have user
accounts, and we never collect, sell, or transmit your personal focus data to us.
The only component that processes data off your device is the third‑party
advertising provider described in the "Advertising" section below.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
---
## 1. Summary
| Topic | Details |
| Do we collect personal data on our servers? | **No.** We have no servers and no user accounts. |
| Where is your focus data stored? | **Only on your device** (local storage). |
| Do we sell your data? | **No.** |
| Do we show ads? | **Yes — via Google AdMob**, which may collect device and advertising data (see Section 5). |
| Does the App work offline? | **Yes**, except that displaying ads requires an internet connection. |
| Can you delete your data? | **Yes** — uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. |
---
## 2. Information We Do **Not** Collect
We do **not** collect, store on our servers, or transmit to ourselves any of the
following:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information.
- The contents of your screen, your keystrokes, your passwords, or your messages.
- The contents of your notifications.
- Your browsing history.
- Your precise location.
The App does not require you to register or sign in.
---
## 3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
To provide its features, the App stores the following information **locally on
your device only** (using your device's private app storage and database). This
information is never sent to us:
- **Focus sessions and timer history** — records of your Pomodoro/focus sessions.
- **Block groups and blocked apps** — the list of applications you choose to block.
- **App usage statistics** — usage data read from your device's system in order to
display your own activity to you.
- **App settings and preferences** — including your chosen language and options.
- **Optional PIN** — if you enable the PIN lock, a one‑way cryptographic hash of
your PIN is stored locally. We cannot recover or read your PIN.
This data remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App or
clear its data from your device settings.
---
## 4. Device Permissions and Why We Use Them
The App requests certain Android permissions strictly to provide its
functionality. Data accessed through these permissions is processed **on your
device** and is **not** collected by us or transmitted to our servers.
- **Accessibility Service** — Used **only** to detect which app is currently in
the foreground during an active focus session and to return you to the home
screen if that app is on your block list. The service does **not** read screen
content, text fields, passwords, or keystrokes, and it does not record or
transmit any information. It acts only on the apps you explicitly choose to
block.
- **Notification Access (Notification Listener)** — Used **only** to dismiss
notifications from apps you have chosen to block, so they do not distract you.
Notification content is not stored, logged, or transmitted.
- **Usage Access (Package Usage Stats)** — Used to display **your own**
app‑usage statistics to you. This information stays on your device.
- **Query Installed Apps** — Used to show you a list of the apps installed on
your device so you can select which ones to block. This list stays on your
device.
- **Notifications (Post Notifications)** — Used to notify you when a focus
session ends or when you attempt to open a blocked app.
- **Foreground Service / Wake Lock** — Used to keep the timer and blocker
running reliably while a focus session is active.
- **Run at Startup / Ignore Battery Optimizations** — Used to keep blocking
working after your device restarts and to prevent the system from stopping the
service during a session.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device's system
settings. Some features will not work without the permissions they rely on.

## 5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays advertisements provided by **Google AdMob**, a service operated
by Google LLC. To deliver and measure ads, Google AdMob and its partners may
collect and process certain information, which may include:
- Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID).
- Device information (such as device model, operating system, and language).
- IP address and approximate, coarse location derived from it.
- Information about your interaction with ads.
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with **Google's own
privacy policy**. We do not control and are not responsible for Google's data
practices. You can review how Google uses this information here:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
**Personalized vs. non‑personalized ads.** Depending on your region and your
consent, ads may be personalized or non‑personalized. Where required by law
(for example, in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), the App
uses Google's consent mechanism to request your choice before showing
personalized ads.
You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising
identifier at any time through your device settings:
**Settings → Google → Ads**.
---
## 6. Data Sharing
We do **not** sell or share your personal focus data with anyone.
The only data processed by a third party is the advertising data handled by
Google AdMob, as described in Section 5. Aside from that, no data leaves your
device.
---
## 7. Data Security
Your focus data is stored in the App's private storage area on your device, which
is protected by the Android operating system. If you enable the optional PIN
lock, only a one‑way cryptographic hash of your PIN is stored — never the PIN
itself.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but because your personal
focus data never leaves your device, the risk of remote compromise is minimized.
---
## 8. Data Retention and Deletion
All of your personal focus data is stored locally. You can delete it at any time
by:
- Clearing the App's data in **Settings → Apps → Locked In → Storage**, or
- Uninstalling the App, which removes all locally stored data.
---
## 9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent
minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. Because the App shows advertising, we recommend it for
a general audience. If you believe a child has provided personal information
through the advertising services, please refer to Google's policies linked above.
---
## 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise
the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Significant changes may also
be communicated through the App or its store listing. Your continued use of the
App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
