Sunday Worship starts at 9:00 am!
Welcome! Lock Federated Church is a congregation that meets in a small, country chapel in Lock, Ohio. It sits on Lock Road, the border line between Knox and Licking counties, just a stone's throw west of Route 657. Though our membership is small, we gather for worship every Sunday morning at 9 o'clock. We also manage several ministries that serve our local community in both the Centerburg and Northridge school districts. We are a part of the United Methodist Church.
Our worship is welcoming and casual. There's no need to dress up. The service is easy-to-follow and consists of well-known hymns (played on piano, guitar, or video), prayer, scripture reading, and a short message. Occasionally we'll add a special contemporary or classic country-style song that fits the day's theme.
Worship begins at 9:00am and typically lasts 30-40 minutes.
After worship, folks normally stay a bit for a cup of coffee and a short Bible study led by one of the church's leaders. We also have kids' Bible Study with teachers experienced in working with children of differing abilities.
Lock offered a Spring Bible School program on the four Sundays following Easter: April 12, 19, and 26, ending on May 3. The theme this year was Rainforest Falls. "Rainforest Falls promises a world of wonder as kids explored the powerful nature of God! Through life-changing Bible stories, the coolest animal buddies, and joyful worship, they discovered who God is and how to stay rooted in His love."
A love offering raised enough funds to donate several fruit trees to needy communities in Central America.
Starting in June 2025, Kevin Bell of Centerburg has been leading our worship each week. Kevin was appointed as a Lay Supply Preacher to serve both Brandon and Lock on a part-time basis. His preaching style is relaxed and uplifting. He often plays guitar to help lead music during our worship. Kevin is currently working through the requirements and training to become a Local Licensed Pastor in the UMC.
We share a Facebook account with Brandon UMC, our sister church. Watch for the latest posts on upcoming events, photos of recent events, and special news bulletins.
