In iOS 16, Apple has opened up the Lock Screen to a wealth of personalization options not seen before. iPhone users can change not only the wallpaper but also the clock font and color, and with the addition of widgets, users can customize the look and control the information density.

As a result of all the new personalization features, Apple has overhauled the Lock Screen editing interface, which now has many similarities to the watch face gallery on Apple Watch. The following steps show you how you can change the font and color of the digital clock on your own Lock Screen.

To customize your Android lock screen, go to Settings > Lock screen or Lock screen & Security > Clock style or Customize Lock Screen > Clock. You might be able to change the color, clock format, and design.

On Android 12 and up, the lock screen clock is large by default until you receive notifications. On Samsung phones, you may choose a more oversized lock screen clock style from Lock screen > Clock style > Lock screen > Type.

Fliqlo for Mac/Windows is a clock screensaver that allows you to make your desktop/laptop device screen look like a flip clock. It displays the time with flip animation in large white numerals against a black background. Thanks to its visibility, you can check the time even from a distance.

Fliqlo for iOS/iPadOS is a clock app that allows you to make your mobile device screen look like a flip clock. It displays the time with flip animation in large white numerals against a black background. Thanks to its visibility, you can check the time even from a distance.

Fliqlo is often shared as an image of home office decor rather than its screenshot, which is a significant feature not found in other software. The following photos are from the Pinterest board. You can also see the other photos with hashtag #fliqlo on Instagram. (*It may contain irrelevant photos because of the hashtag.)

On my i-phone 11 I changed my wallpaper and clock color, yet when I press "Done" the wallpaper stays the same, but the clock changes color where I can barely see it. Doesn't matter that I change it to black, once I select done, it changes to something almost invisible.

A day or two ago, my Moto G6 started showing an analog clock on the lock screen. There used to be a digital one. I am not seeing any corresponding settings under Display or Security/Lock screen. Not sure how this happened.

Thank you! Worked like a charm. Bizarrely, this problem started for me yesterday when I picked my phone up from the nightstand and it said I was locked out, "try again in 3 hours". I had not tried to enter my passcode 1 time, much less the many incorrect tries it takes to lock it for that long. When I finally did wait out the 3 hours, the passcode worked as usual but the clock widget was dimmed. I had turned the phone off and then on to see if would clear the 3-hour-long "locked out" glitch (it didn't), so I didn't think to do it one more time to clear the "dimmed clock widget" glitch. Anyway, thanks again.

Actually I kinda liked the dim clock as it was more transparent and fit my background nicely. Too bad it disappeared in its own and I am now stuck with a bright lock that is gaudy to watch. Is there a way to switch back to dim mode? Also Apple developers really need to allow us to move the clock to a different location and with smaller size, or remove the clock altogether.

Ok I recently posted about my Lock Screen clock being very dim, almost nonexistent I looked to see if their were any updates pending. Turns out I needed an update to iOS 16. After downloading the update, the phone restarted after and BAM, my clock was fixed, thank you God!

Every single font option for the lock screen clock are all bold in 6.0. No thin / slim fonts ? Anyone know how to use custom fonts in 6.0 without rooting? I can only find instructions with how to use the SetEddit app (to use custom font) on 5.1.

hi All,

After installing the latest firmware upgrade FP4.SP21.B.048.20230215 a very large Digital Clock appeared in the Lockscreen. how/where can I change or even remove this clock?

thanks, Iwan

Thanks a lot Yvonne, for moving my question and pointing out the options. (as in none)

will rest my search for removing the hidious clock.

However, as soon as there are notifications from other apps in the lockscreen, the large clock/time numbers disappear, and reappear as soon as the notifications are swiped away.

very strange update/feature. seems like some kind of joke/weddenschap from the developersĀ

kind regards

Iwan

Fortunately, it did. Android 13 came with this toggle which now makes it possible to use your desired clock style in the lock screen. Since Android 13 has yet to roll out to devices other than the Google Pixel phones, these instructions and screenshots below on how to use this are specific to the Pixel launcher.advertisement

When I go to my lockscreen, Windows shows the time, but the seconds don't update. I took a screencap of my lockscreen and highlighted in red the part that isn't working. Basically, the minutes and hours update fine, but the seconds are stuck at whatever value it was when I locked the screen. When the minute updates, the seconds seem to get set to either 00 or 01. Switching to a 12-hour clock did not fix it.

The taskbar does not show this, however, clicking on the clock brings up the time/calendar menu. This does show the clock and update every second. Strangely, each of my calendar appointments for tomorrow show seconds on the time. They are all wrong. In fact, each of the seconds shown are the same, and they were the value of the live clock when the menu loaded. So I loaded the menu at 43, and the clock shows 44.

So now that we have all the data laid out for reference, back to your actual question. The lock screen is in fact properly querying the time format you have specified. It just is not updating at the proper interval.I came across your post because I was looking for a way to manually modify the update rate to show the proper seconds on the clock. Sorry I don't have a fix, but perhaps this documentation of the bug scenario will help us find a fix, or workaround.

I'm asking because I have a custom clock widget in my launcher and until now I used the Product Sans font (same as the system and lockscreen) for it, but I've been experimenting with the new lockscreen clock options and I wanted to match my widget's font with it. I've searched the web, the phone, used font viewer apps and can't seem to find them anywhere. Maybe the fonts aren't even present on the phone as such, since the lockscreen animations actually change seamlessly between two different fonts when turning the AOD on and off, but I thought about asking. Thanks in advance!

I'm fussy and clingy and irritates me slightly that clock on losck screen in on left side not on middle/center - does anyone also think it would look better in the middle including the weather etc.? (it's about a small clock).

I know what options are there I post this topic for suggestion to change small clock position on lockscreen (not AOD) Small clock in on left side and it's look weird cuz for me better place for him is middle screen ~1/3 height. Only big clock is center/middle (2 lines) but when you get nottification u get small clock on left side corder xd Personally I think that this small clock position is better (picture example)---

Hi, I'm also very annoyed with incosistency of lockscreen/always-on's design.

Always on - small digital clock has some very weird font, definetely not the system one.

Lockscreen - color of digital clock is accent color from the theme, but other stuff (notifications, alarm, ...) are white.

Developers, can you please look at it? Current UX is horrible (including black design of phone code screen). My previous Pixel 5 with A13 looked much better in these situations. Sadly, these situations you experience many times a day.

Hello, my new xperia 1 ii phone has a different time on the lock screen clock to the home screen clock, sometimes a matter of hours. Any idea why and how to sync them? I would be very grateful for any help. Many thanks.

Can't remember where it is in settings, at the moment, but make sure the network/internet is not set to sleep when the phone is asleep..If it is, it won't update the clock straight away, it'll be updated on the next screen unlock.

I installed build 58.1.A.5.55 today and turned the ambient display back on to see if it was still affected and found that it was - the clock still fails to keep time on the ambient display, so I disabled it again.

However, the clock on the ambient display was still not keeping 100% accurate time when I activated it using the proximity sensor. On one or two occasions it did give the correct time, but mostly it was between 1 and 5 minutes slow.

I think that it will help you clearing the cache and storage for the following apps: STAMINA mode, Battery Care and Lock screen settings. Resetting these applications helped me also to solve other issues caused by the sleep mode.

I just updated my Pixel 7 Pro and there's a new font for the clock on the lock screen that makes me want to throw up. I assume this is a change from Google, not something specific to GrapheneOS? And I assume no way to change it except using the double line version?

1e2j6 LMFAO, I feel you on that! I do not like it; way too bold looking of a font. I also find the spacing betwen the colon to be an ugly gap. Looks like 22 : 22, where 22:22 looks better to me. Double digits have the clock nearly all the way to the edge of the screen too, which just feels big and bulky.

I absolutely agree with above written complains, I'm considering to not use this system till it is fixed. Why the developers waist time with unimportant OS security and privacy, and why they don't focus and give bigger attention to what's really important like font on the lockscreen? :-) 2351a5e196
