The primary research target is to search for a room-temperature diluted magnetic semiconductor. To generate the spin-polarized carriers in semiconductors, a minute content of magnetic dopant is dissolved inside the host materials. Although the idea is established for several decades, for example, Mn-doped GaAs, no material has shown the long-range ferromagnetic order while maintaining its semiconducting characteristics.
