What is Place?

“Place is a particular area or point on Earth that has a particular characteristic.”

The Boardwalk is a strip of businesses and activities located along the shore of the Atlantic Ocean in South Carolina. Without the ocean there would be no main attraction or meaning to Myrtle Beach. It was this physical geographic trait that attracted people and influenced the development of the boardwalk. The Ocean, sun and warm weather is what makes the location what it is. Over time humans have built onto the beach and made it a tourist attraction site.
