THE SHORT, LEAFY VERSION

Local Leaf helps legally eligible adults find and compare nearby dispensary inventory. We built it to work without an account, advertising trackers, or a personal profile. We do not sell personal data. We do not sell, reserve, deliver, or take payment for cannabis.

To return local results, Local Leaf needs either a ZIP code or the foreground location you choose to provide. Because cannabis searches and location information can be sensitive, this policy explains exactly what sprouts, what stays briefly, and what is never planted in the first place.

INFORMATION LOCAL LEAF PROCESSES

Local Leaf may process these categories of information:

• Location you choose to provide. If you tap Use location, Android asks for foreground location permission. The resulting coordinates are used to find nearby stores, calculate distance, and return local inventory. Local Leaf does not request or collect background location. You can instead enter a ZIP code.

• Search and filter choices. Search text, product filters, selected dispensaries, ZIP or foreground coordinates, and radius are sent to the Local Leaf backend so it can return matching inventory.

• Anonymous store activity. Opening product details increments daily store-level view totals. Tapping a store website, phone number, or directions action increments a store-level referral total. These events identify the store and action, not the person.

• Security and technical information. Our service providers may process IP addresses, request times, error information, and ordinary server logs to deliver and secure the service. Google Play Integrity may provide app, licensing, and device-integrity verdicts so Local Leaf can distinguish a genuine Play-installed app from automated abuse. Local Leaf does not use these verdicts for advertising or personal profiling.

Local Leaf does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, birthday, medical diagnosis, dispensary credentials, payment details, contacts, photos, advertising ID, or a Local Leaf account.

REQUEST DATA DELETION

Email localleaf.app@proton.me with the subject Privacy Request and describe what you want deleted. Local Leaf will delete information we can reasonably authenticate and connect to the request, or explain when no identifiable record exists. The app has no accounts or persistent user profiles, and anonymous store-level totals generally cannot be connected back to one person. Security records may be retained only when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protecting the service.

WHY WE USE IT

We use the information above only to:

• Provide the nearby inventory search, distance, store-contact, and directions features you request.

• Keep inventory useful by understanding anonymous store demand and referral activity.

• Diagnose errors, protect the catalogue from automated copying, and keep Local Leaf reliable.

• Understand, in broad anonymous terms, where legal markets need better coverage.

We do not use this information for targeted advertising, create personal consumer profiles, or attempt to infer a medical condition.

SOURCES OF INFORMATION

Information comes from:

• You, when you enter a ZIP, choose filters, search, or tap a store action.

• Your device, only when you choose foreground location and grant Android permission.

• Google Play and the Local Leaf app, for app-integrity and security signals.

• Basic network and hosting systems needed to deliver your request.

RETENTION

• To make reopening the app feel immediate, Local Leaf stores the last selected ZIP or foreground location, radius, and a limited local-results cache on your device. The results cache expires after 24 hours and is deleted when it expires, no longer matches the selected area, or you clear location. The saved location is deleted when you clear location or clear Local Leaf's app data. Local Leaf excludes this convenience data from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.

• Raw foreground coordinates, ZIP searches, search text, and filters are used to answer the request and are not kept by Local Leaf as a personal search history.

• Anonymous generalized market-demand signals are rounded to an approximately half-degree geographic grid, limited to regulated cannabis markets, kept in server memory for about eight hours, and are not associated with an account or persistent user identifier.

• Daily store-level product-detail totals contain no user identifier and may be retained for up to 365 days.

• Store-level website, phone, and directions totals contain no user identifier and may be retained for up to 365 days so Local Leaf can report daily, weekly, monthly, and rolling-year referral activity.

• Security events, errors, and ordinary service-provider logs may be retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the service, subject to provider settings and legal requirements.

SERVICE PROVIDERS AND EXTERNAL DESTINATIONS

Local Leaf uses a small number of providers to operate requested features:

• Render hosts the Local Leaf backend and may process requests and ordinary service logs on Local Leaf's behalf.

• Google Play / Google Cloud distribute the Android app and process Play Integrity security requests.

• Zippopotam.us may convert an uncached ZIP code into approximate coordinates. ZIP-to-coordinate results may be cached without a user identifier.

• OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles, and OpenStreetMap contributors provide or support map imagery. Loading map imagery may send ordinary network information, such as an IP address, to the map service.

Directions, store websites, and phone calls open the external maps app, browser, or dialer you choose. Once you leave Local Leaf, that service's privacy policy applies.

Local Leaf does not sell personal information or consumer health data. We do not share sensitive information with advertising networks or data brokers. Providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform the service described above.

SENSITIVE AND CONSUMER HEALTH INFORMATION

Some laws may treat a cannabis-related search or precise location near a health-related retailer as consumer health data. Local Leaf treats this information as sensitive even though we do not ask why you are searching or whether your use is medical or adult-use.

We process a ZIP, foreground location, and related search choices only to provide the Local Leaf feature you request. We do not sell that information, use it for advertising, or knowingly combine it with an identity. You can withdraw from future location processing by denying or revoking Android location permission and not entering a ZIP code. Local Leaf will then show the location-free welcome experience instead of local inventory.

YOUR CHOICES AND PRIVACY RIGHTS

You can:

• Use a ZIP instead of foreground location.

• Deny or revoke location permission in Android settings.

• Stop a search or stop using Local Leaf at any time.

• Ask whether Local Leaf has information reasonably linkable to you, request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent, and appeal a denied privacy request by emailing localleaf.app@proton.me with the subject Privacy Request.

Local Leaf has no user accounts and intentionally avoids persistent user identifiers. As a result, we often cannot connect an anonymous aggregate event to a particular person. We will honor requests for information we can reasonably authenticate and control, or explain when no identifiable record exists. We will not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.

SECURITY

Local Leaf uses encrypted network connections, restricted administrative access, app-integrity checks, and other reasonable safeguards intended to protect its systems. No internet service can promise perfect security, but privacy-minimal design means there is less personal information to protect.

ADULTS AND LAWFUL USE ONLY

Local Leaf is intended for adults who are legally eligible to access cannabis information in their jurisdiction. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Local Leaf is an informational comparison and referral tool; it does not sell cannabis, process orders or payments, reserve products, or arrange pickup or delivery. Users must follow applicable law and retailer eligibility requirements.

POLICY UPDATES

If Local Leaf materially changes what it collects or why, this policy will be updated before the new practice begins and the effective date will change. Where law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it.
