This online resource is designed to be a how-to-guide for using the LocalCoffeeShops.org online database of independent coffee shops.
LocalCoffeeShops.org curates the largest online database of coffee shops locations in the U.S.
However, using the site is intimidating at times.
Local coffee shops organizes each location under the state and city. The homepage of the site displays a list too all states including the District of Columbia. Additionally, each major city in each state has a list of local establishments. Some cities are not large enough and do not meet the minimum requirement for a dedicated page.
Each coffee shop profile page contains breadcrumb links to the state and city that it belongs to. These state and city directory pages only include independent coffee shops.
These are coffee shops that are not part of a large chain. A large chain is a conglomerate that contains 20 or more franchises.
Because our mission is to only support local shops, these are not included in our directory listings. However, they will be returned if you run a search query.
The home page of the website has a search box that is very useful for finding something specific. As mentioned earlier, the search functionality returns both independent and brand name coffee shop chains.
Use "quotation marks" around keywords that are required. Anything that is not surrounded by quotation marks will be considered an optional parameter.
For example, if you search for Los Angeles California, you might get search results for shops in California as well as Los Angeles. However if you search for "Los Angeles" only shops containing that location will be returned. Using quotations is a easy way to narrow your search.
Each coffee shop profile contains up to date listing information curated from a variety of sources. For example we list the coffee shops operating hours, what they're known for, important about us information, a description of the location, their address, a link to navigation through Google Maps, and most importantly an aggregation of reviews.
Not only do we aggregate reviews from across the Internet, we invite anyone who has visited the location to leave a review on our website which will be incorporated into the review list.
We are constantly updating our records, however if you notice an error please report! We depend on our wonderful volunteers to help us maintain up-to-date and accurate listings.
Interested in volunteering your time to help promote, support, and curate local coffee shops near you? Drop us a line on our contact page and we will add you as a verified curator!
In addition to all of the states above, the third tab in the embedded spreadsheet includes a list of the most popular cities in the United states. To avoid making this page any longer we will not be embedding the cities tab as a standalone.
If you want to browse the list of most popular cities it would probably be best to open the spreadsheet in a new tab anyway. There are over 1000 cities listed.
