By Plane
The nearest airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), located about 13 km from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. From Schiphol Airport:
By train: Take a direct train to Amsterdam Zuid Station (approx. 7 minutes). VU Amsterdam is a 5-minute walk from the station.
By taxi: A taxi ride from Schiphol to the VU campus takes around 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Public Transport
VU Amsterdam is easily accessible by public transport:
By train: Travel to Amsterdam Zuid Station, which is served by both regional and international trains. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the main campus.
By tram: Take Tram 24 (direction VU Medisch Centrum) and get off at De Boelelaan/VU.
By metro: Metro line 52 (North–South line) also stops at Amsterdam Zuid Station.
By bus: Several buses, including bus lines 62 and 65, stop near the VU campus.
