If you want an open-ear solution that keeps you safe and connected to your environment while running, choose LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones; if you need a dedicated, immersive listening experience for television or quiet home entertainment, choose Earbay Headphones.
• LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones: Best strength is its secure, lightweight air conduction design perfect for active use with 10-hour battery life; biggest trade-off is it sacrifices deep bass isolation for environmental awareness. This pick is for the runner or cyclist who refuses to block out the world.
• Earbay Headphones: Best strength is its massive 40-hour battery life and ultra-low latency transmission specifically engineered for TV syncing; biggest trade-off is its over-ear, closed-back design which isolates you from surroundings and isn't built for movement. This pick is for the audiophile or senior seeking private, high-fidelity couch time.
The LOBKIN X31 is not designed to be a traditional pair of rotatable ear cups over ear headphones for audiophiles who crave total silence. Instead, it occupies a very specific niche as a sports earbuds for audiophiles who prioritize situational awareness above all else. Its core architecture relies on directional audio delivery technology that uses air conduction rather than bone conduction vibrations. This distinction matters because it avoids the often-muddled vibration issues found in other open designs, delivering sound directly into the ear canal without blocking it. The result is a listening experience that feels natural and spacious, allowing you to hear your music while remaining fully aware of traffic, cyclists, or family members nearby.
For the active user, the physical design is where this product truly shines. Weighing in at just 26 grams, the frame utilizes memory titanium alloy combined with skin-friendly liquid silicone. This construction allows the headphones to flex and adapt to different head shapes without pinching or causing the tingling sensation common with in-ear alternatives. The ear-hook design ensures they stay put during intense sprints or long cycling sessions. With an IPX7 waterproof rating, these headphones can handle heavy sweat, rain, or even a quick rinse under a tap, making them resilient enough for daily outdoor training.

However, this model is not for everyone. If you are looking for the best bone conduction headphones for audiophiles who demand absolute noise cancellation and deep, rumbling bass, you should skip this option entirely. The open-ear design inherently lets ambient noise in and cannot provide the sealed acoustic environment required for critical listening in a noisy cafe or on a busy street. It is a tool for safety and movement, not for escaping reality. You will get up to 10 hours of continuous playback, which is sufficient for a full day of activity, but it requires a two-hour charge cycle. It is also equipped with built-in 8GB storage, meaning you can leave your phone behind and still carry thousands of songs on the device itself.
In stark contrast, the Earbay headphones are engineered for one primary purpose: transforming the living room into a private cinema. These are not sports gear; they are stationary companions designed for those who want to enjoy late-night movies, news, or sports events without disturbing a sleeping partner or roommate. The design features soft protein leather ear cushions and memory foam padding, creating an ergonomic fit that eliminates pressure points during extended wear. While they lack the flexibility needed for a run, their over-ear shape provides a level of comfort intended for sitting, reclining, or moving slowly around the house.
The audio performance here is driven by large 40-millimeter dynamic drivers, which offer a significantly richer frequency response compared to the smaller drivers found in sport-focused earbuds. The sensitivity reaches 112 dB, ensuring that dialogue remains crisp and clear even at lower volumes, a feature that makes these particularly suitable for seniors or individuals with hearing impairments who need every detail of the soundtrack to be audible. The enclosure materials include faux leather and stainless steel accents, giving the unit a sturdy, premium feel that suggests durability for long-term home use.
These headphones shine when paired with the included charging dock and transmitter. The setup supports optical, RCA, and AUX connections, ensuring compatibility with almost any television model made in recent years. The standout feature for the home viewer is the ultra-low latency capability. With Bluetooth 5.4 technology, the system delivers audio with less than 40 milliseconds of delay. This synchronization is critical for watching action scenes or live sports where lip-sync accuracy is non-negotiable. You can move up to 15 meters away from the TV without losing connection, giving you the freedom to cook, clean, or relax in another part of the room without missing a beat.
However, the trade-off is weight and versatility. At 40 millimeters per driver and a substantial build, these are not pocketable devices. They do not have the water resistance or the secure fit required for vigorous exercise. Furthermore, while they boast an impressive 40-hour battery life—enough to last a week of casual viewing—they are tethered to the charging base for recharging, meaning they are less portable than true wireless earbuds. They are a fixed asset for your home entertainment center, not a companion for your morning jog.

As someone who values both audio fidelity and practical utility, I would buy the LOBKIN Open Ear Headphones if my primary goal was maintaining an active lifestyle without sacrificing music quality. However, if I were strictly an audiophile looking for the best experience for home theater consumption, I would choose the Earbay Headphones. But for the "rotatable ear cups over ear headphones for audiophiles" looking for deep immersion, Earbay is the undeniable winner. In my opinion, neither is universally better; they serve two completely different masters. If you need to hear the world while you move, go LOBKIN. If you need to shut out the world to focus on the screen, go Earbay.
