Dr. Yuvraj Gajpal

Yuvraj Gajpal is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at Asper School of

Business, University of Manitoba Winnipeg, Canada. He holds a PhD in Management Science

from DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University Hamilton, Canada and Master in

Industrial Management from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India. Prior to joining

University of Manitoba, he worked as an assistant professor at King Fahd University of

Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. He also taught courses at McMaster

University as a sessional lecture. He has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Interuniversity

Research Center on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT), University

of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) and McMaster University. He is a member of

Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and Canadian

Operational Research Society (CORS).

His research interests mainly lie on application of heuristics and meta-heuristics on

transportation and logistics management. He has published papers in leading research journals

such as Computers and Operations Research, European Journal of Operations Research,

International journal of Production Economics, annals of Operations Research, Reliability

Engineering and Systems Safety, Construction Management and Economics and Journal of the

Operational Research Society. He is a reviewer of many international journals such as

Computers and Operations Research, European Journal of Operations Research, Computers and

Industrial Engineering, Journal of Heuristics and Transportation Research Part E.

He has taught wide variety of courses in Engineering and Management. He has taught courses in

Introduction to Management Science, Operations Management, Simulation, Mathematical

Optimization Models, Statistics, Global Supply Chain Management, Engineering Economics,

Cost accounting and Methods engineering.

Dr. Sahil Raj

Sahil Raj is a faculty member at School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala,

India. His main area of interest is the application of information systems in business

organizations. He holds an engineering degree as well as an MBA. Sahil also holds a Ph.D. in

Information System. Prior to his present organization, he had worked in Ranbaxy Laboratories, a

leading pharmaceutical company. At Ranbaxy, he was involved in managing one of the Asia’s

biggest Effluent Treatment Plant. Sahil has authored four books which includes Management

Information System and Business Analytics with leading global publishers like Pearson

Publication and Cengage Publication. Sahil has worked with leading authors in the area of

information system and business analytics. He actively contributes in various global edition

books of Pearson including MIS by Laudon and Laudon, Using MIS, 7/e by Kroenke and David,

Introduction to Information Systems by Wallance, System Analysis and Design by Kendall and

Kendall, Modern Database Management System by Hoffer, Venktaraman, Topi, Essentials of

System Analysis and Design by Valacich and Business Analytics by Evans. Sahil Raj has been

regularly contributing research papers to national and international journals and has presented

research papers in many national and international conferences. He is reviewer of various

national and international journals. He is also on Editorial board of journals dealing with

information systems and big data analytics. Dr. Raj is also actively involved in imparting training

regarding Business Analytics and Social Media Analytics. He has been expert speaker in various

universities and institutions. Dr. Raj is also course coordinator of Business Analytics in his

university. Presently, he is guiding research projects in the areas of artificial neural networks,

business analytics, strategic information systems, expert systems and big data analytics. He has

also being selected for Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Big Data Analytics at HITAL, Canada.

Dr. Prashant Rana

Dr. Prashant Singh Rana is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at

Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala, India. He also worked as a Project Scientist at IIT

Delhi, India. He received his Ph.D. from ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and

Management, Gwalior, India and his areas of research are Machine learning, Soft computing,

Combinatorial problems, and Computational Biology.

Dr. Amit Kumar Bhardwaj

Dr. Amit Kumar Bhardwaj (Working as Assistant Professor in L M Thapar School of

Management, Thapar University, Derabassi campus, Patiala, Punjab, India).

He did his Ph.D. in the domain of network security based on visual analytics from

Computer Science Engineering Department (CSED), Thapar University, Patiala, during

my tenure of HOD of CSED, TU.

He is having a sound research profile and having a good number of publications in SCI,

Non-SCI, ABDC journals and in International and Nationals conferences. He is also

actively involved in collaborative research work with Prof. Yuvraj Gajpal, University of

Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada on Cloud Computing and Dr. Lalit Garg, Senior Lecturer in

the University of Malta, in the field of Business application of cloud computing in Health

Informatics. He is also working under UGCE Collaborative program of Groningen,

Netherlands on Entrepreneurship for Thapar University, Patiala.

He served as an Area Chair of Information Systems domain efficiently at L M Thapar

School of Management, Thapar University. He introduced many market-oriented

subjects which enhanced the skill sets of the students according to market. He

developed and taught new subjects like Health Informatics, Information Systems

Security, e-business, digital marketing, Business applications of cloud computing, Data

warehousing and Data mining, Business Intelligence, information system analysis and

design, information systems management, Excel modeling for decision making etc.
