Hannah Morton- President

"I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them."

-Andy Bernard (Ed Helms)

Hi, I’m Hannah and this is one of my favorite quotes. Andy Bernard states this at a time of ending a chapter to move on to a new one. I believe when raising kids we are in some of the best chapters of our lives and making moments count is important. I have accepted the role of being Co-President of the PTSO and I am excited to help in the continuation of building a school environment that is positive and fun. I will work hard to make this chapter count for our students.

A few quick facts about me!  My husband and I have been together since I was 17 years old and we have three amazing kids. I am a childhood cancer survivor. I coach boxing to people with Parkinson’s Disease, train jiujitsu, and I know sign language.

Deanna Hooker- Vice President

Deanna's son, Jayden is a seventh grader at LMS. She also has a seven year old daughter who attends Belville Elementary. She is originally from Long Island, NY, but has raised her family in the Charlotte area for over ten years. Deanna and her husband Jeremy have been married for 12 years and their love for the beach and a slower pace has recently relocated their family to Leland.

Deanna works for Aunt Flow who has a mission to make the world better for people with periods. Aunt Flow partners with schools and enterprises to provide high quality organic period products for free. Deanna oversees the K-12 vertical and works closely with districts throughout the country.

Times haven’t just been hard on us as parents. By extension, these have also been trying times for teachers and students. Deanna believes that parental involvement has the power to lift a bit of this burden off teachers’ shoulders, improving the quality of education for all children in the classroom and directly raising community morale. She believes that when teachers see parent involvement in action, they feel as if they have an assistant at home. That kind of participation is encouraging, especially in these middle school years.

Darlene Wittemann- Communications

Darlene is an incredible asset to our LMS community. She is a founding member who has worked tirelessly to get our PTSO at LMS up and running smoothly. Originally from Long Island, NY she and her family now call Leland home for the past 3 years.

Darlene works full time at Costco as a Hearing Aid Attendant. She has a daughter in seventh grade at LMS.

Darlene decided to join and start up the PTSO at LMS because she wanted to put in an effort to become more involved. She feels it is important to be involved in her community any way she possibly can. She also feels it is a great example for her daughter.

Darlene's favorite quote - "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours."
