Before/Prep Instructions & Recommendations
There are some simple steps you should take to accomplish a nice and long-lasting tan.
These steps are important, so please be sure to ask questions!
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Exfoliate
Exfoliating your entire body, (focusing heavily on your elbows, knees and feet) will free your skin of dry or dead skin cells to ensure an even and long lasting tan. We recommend an exfoliating mitt, cloth, a pair of gloves or an oil free scrub.
Nails
We suggest getting your mani’s & pedi’s BEFORE, not after a spray tan. If you forget or don’t have time, please ask your nail tech to do a dry service. No soaking. No scrubbing. No oil.
HAIR REMOVAL | LOTIONS + MAKEUP
Shave or wax at least 8 hours (but preferably 24 hours) before your appointment in order to close your pores for the tanning application.
PLEASE avoid showering or rinsing off RIGHT before your appointment.
The day of your tan, try to avoid lotions and makeup that may act as a barrier for the tanning solution. If you need to remove your makeup or deodorant before your appointment, avoid oil-based removers - we recommend a wash cloth for pits & privates!
*Avoid massages 24 hours prior to your appointment.
IDEAL PREP TIMELINE/TIPS
Skin Prep
24 Hours/Night before Spray Tan Appointment:
Nail Appointment, Shower, Shave, Exfoliate
After your prep shower, apply a moisturizing lotion ALL over your body.
*please discontinue the use of any Dove products during prep & while you have your spray tan.
Day of Spray Tan
Have your baggy clothes/outfit picked out!
Long Pants & Long Sleeves are encouraged to protect your spray tan before your 1st rinse.
After being sprayed, you should avoid tight clothing, bras, shorts, tank tops, socks & tennis/tightly fitted shoes to allow your tan to develop evenly.
Drink lots of water to help with the hydration of your skin.
Be ready for your appointment with your skin free of all products. This includes jewelry, lotions, deodorant, make-up, oils and perfumes.
