This 1-day workshop aims to connect researchers across the UK working in representation theory, particularly group representation theory and related areas, and is the London Mathematical Society: Celebrating New Appointments event for Stacey Law at the University of Birmingham. This is supported by Scheme 9 of the LMS, together with the School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham.
The workshop will consist of talks from the invited speakers, a talk from the new appointee, as well as an informal reception followed by dinner. We hope to encourage new and existing connections between researchers working on diverse topics in representation theory, particularly across different career stages.
To register for this workshop, please fill in the registration form. Registration is free for all participants.
All researchers with an interest in representation theory and related areas are welcome. Early career researchers are particularly encouraged to attend. To support early career researchers to attend this workshop, there are some workshop funds available to contribute towards travel expenses of early career researchers. If you would like to apply for financial support, please indicate this on the registration form.
The School of Mathematics has established a programme to offer funded child-care services to visiting researchers. To take advantage of this opportunity, it is recommended that you make contact with the organiser at the earliest convenience to ensure proper arrangements are made.
The School of Mathematics is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and safe community for all; please see the school's Code of Conduct for staff, students and visitors.
