No matter your spiritual gifting and natural talents, we aim to help support one another and serve together as a fellowship of believers here at Lyman Methodist. Please review our upcoming events and partnerships below. We would love to serve alongside you.
We can partner with missional or outreach efforts in four ways: pray with/for them, give contributions in some way, go visit our mission partner to learn and serve alongside them, and/or receive them here at LMC to strengthen the partnership or mission.
These are all ways to partner, and all are important. However, prayer comes first and sustains our missions. We believe that prayer is the keystone to our missions and outreach ministry. Please continue to pray for the efforts and partnerships listed here as well as the unreached and unchurched people on the horizon.
Hurricane Melissa has caused significant damage to Jamaica. If you would like to donate to support recovery efforts in Jamaica and surrounding areas in the Caribbean you can donate directly through our website HERE.
Make sure to include a note on “Additional Information” what it is intended for. (Example: Hurricane Melissa Relief)
We ask that you continue to cover Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas, and all impacted regions with God’s comfort, provision, and peace.
Last month, we took part in the Activate Training with TMS Global. This was the kick-off event as we move forward in deeper missional engagement as a congregation. TMS Global will continue walking alongside us as a coach in doing so. One of the first steps is assessing how we're currently doing as a congregation by a missional assessment. We'd ask for your participation in this survey. This will be open and available for a limited time.
Please help us by contributing to this online assessment:

On-line Auction Supports Oasis Conference
Global Methodist Church of South Carolina Supports International Mission in North Africa
At this year’s Behold Annual Conference in June, the delegation representing over 100+ Global Methodist Church’s voted unanimously in partnering with the Oasis Conference in North Africa. Through this commitment it will allow congregations to become personally engaged in “Kingdom Building” initiatives in this region of the world.
What is the Oasis Conference?
The Oasis Conference is an emerging annual conference in Africa serving the persecuted church. Operating in a number of ‘closed nations,’ the Oasis Conference is following the Spirit to reach people in Muslim majority countries where conversion and baptism are often illegal, resources are limited, and church leaders can face jail time or violence for their actions. Yet despite these hardships, Christian leaders continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ with great fruitfulness.
What work will our partnership with the Oasis Conference support:
Clergy Training: Conference leaders identify and train gifted men and women to serve as pastors in their local context. Clergy training includes education in Bible, theology, Methodism, and practical ministry. The Oasis Conference offers clergy training within an
African context to minimize the cost of education, lower travel burdens, and limit time away from pastors’ home context. Educating pastors in their local context is highly effective and a fraction of the cost of sending students to Western seminaries.
Oasis Conference Leaders: The Oasis Conference is led by three gifted leaders who function as missionaries, trainers, and conference leaders. As a persecuted church, funds are not locally available to support the work of these missionary conference leaders, yet their work is vitally important to building this multi-nation network and multiplying leaders across Africa.
Special Projects: The Oasis Conference identifies one-time projects that support the advancement of the gospel in their region. These may include support to a local orphanage, resources for an evangelistic radio broadcast in local languages to bypass government censorship, or in securing a safe house for pastors who must flee immediate danger.
How will the GMC of SC support the Oasis Conference?
The Conference is seeking to commit 10% of our budget to international missions. The majority of our 10% offering to international missions will go to the Oasis Conference. Local congregations will have the opportunity to directly support a missionary or to take on a one-time project. The Missions Collective will also explore fundraisers to support international missions, such as a on-line silent auction.
The on-line auction site can be viewed starting October 15 th and ending on November 9, 2025. We especially encourage all Gamecock and Tiger fans to visit and preview those special items selected just for you! Additional items available are travel destinations, authentic sports memorabilia, and numerous other “goodies”.
Some items have been generated by a third party and may not reflect the views of the GMC of SC.

Matthew 9:35-38
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
