Protein phosphatases act in a coordinated way on cell signaling pathways that play a role in various physiological and pathological processes. The activity of protein tyrosine phosphatases is directly regulated by oxidants, which inactivate those reversibly. Our group is interested to understand the different oxidation mechanism of protein phosphatases and their impact into the cell. We integrated multiple biochemical and biophysical methods as enzyme activity, fast kinetics, fluorescence, circular dichroism, nuclear resonance magnetic, x-ray crystallography, fluorescence microscopy.
