22 in number of chariots accounted for.
Steel tyres - no holes. Steel was heated and then moulded around a piece of bent Ash and cooled to shrink it around it. The Chariot Horn Cap has a Swastika design on it. This was probably a Celtic symbol of good fortune and could have been a badge denoting the rank of the charioteer or maybe a talisman for protection.
Chariots made mainly from wood, carried two people - one the driver, the other the soldier, who jumped off for fighting. One complete wheel was retrieved, but thrown back in by a workman, and was never found again.
