How do I know is something is Intelligent?
General AI, also known as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), refers to AI systems capable of understanding, learning, and applying intelligence across a wide range of tasks, similar to human intelligence. Specific AI, often called Narrow AI or Weak AI, is designed to perform a particular task or a set of closely related tasks with intelligence.
Learning and Adaptability: AGI has the ability to learn from experiences, adapt to new situations, and solve problems in varied contexts without being explicitly programmed for them. In contrast, Specific AI excels at its designated tasks but lacks the ability to adapt beyond its predefined operational parameters.
If machines can only follow instructions from humans, if they are not intelligent, then they should never be able to beat humans in these tasks. Some examples of Specific AI where computers perform better than humans:
